AIM? FTP? WTF are you talking about?

I'm going to take a stab at your vague query, because I think I know what you're attempting to pull off.
You're transferring files using AIM (which sucks as a means of file transfer, as do all IM software). You don't want AIM to start up w/ the PC.
Click on Start
Click on Run
Type REGEDIT and click OK.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run.
There will be a key named AIM. Delete that and AIM will no longer start with Windows.
As Boris suggested, running MSCONFIG to alter your startup paremters will achieve the same effect.

As far as doing FTP, you'd need to have an FTP daemon running on the comptuer wou want to conenct to from the car. There are many simple FTP Daemons around. ServU is a common one.

The problem is; I delete AIM from the startup, and that works until I use AIM again. When I use it again it automatically adds itself to the startup. And I'll check out ServU. Thanks.

There's a setting in the AIM options to remove it from startup.
From the buddy list:
My AIM > Edit Options > Edit Preferences > Sign On/Off
Uncheck the option 'Start AIM when Windows starts'.

Thank God. That's been driving me crazy, added about another 4 minutes to my startup. Thanks DarkPervert
