hey if you want something to fade out and fade back in, there is a yahoo widget (linked to in my earlier post) that does this. It accepts keyboard shortcuts to enable/disable, so all you would need is something to send the keyboard shortcut when it gets dark.

Progress has been made on GC. It now dims properly. Now I need to work on hte config screen and link it to system idle time.

Nice!

Not trying to compete here, but the script I created can be used to trigger ANYTHING when dark. So you can get pretty clever with what you want to do upon sunset (not only dim monitor).... possibilities are endless

Yeh. Next version will have ability to run any program (or script for that matter). Just some copy and paste of code from NaviVoice.
