Installing XP on CF

Ive tried searching on here and was unable to find a clear answer.

I currently have a EPIA MII10K running on just a normal IDE drive. Lately however Ive been thinking of changing it to booting from a CF card using the onboard CF Slot. Thus far I have been unable to find any clear answer on how to get XP or the XP installer to recognize the CF card as a drive and allow me to install onto it.

I apologize if this question is kinda dumb haha. thanks anyways.

Thanks for the answers

Will a IDE>CF converter still have the same performance benefits of just CF?
