what special cable you talking about?
I am using it on win2k. It worked with the basic software out of the box. You need to know how to hookup realys tho. That is very important.

I know how relays work, I have over 10 years experience with relays. I've build remote starts out of relays, channel expensions for Code Alarms, Multi headunit switchers. Relay is not my concern. My problem is getting my computer to control the relay board. I HAVE NO SOFTWARE!!!!!. I dont know anything about visual basics. I order the board only. I didnt order the starter kit which includes the seirial cable. I made the serial cable according to the diagram on their website. I've downloaded Derek's software since we both have the same exact board. It still doesnt work. The relay board powers up and the heart beat LED light flashes. will someone please help me with the software? The board I got is the R85 from www.controlanything.com Thank you

I bought the same board as you. I bought the R85. When I looked at the relays, it says that its rated at 10 amps. Anyway, I have no clue on getting the software for it. I made my own serial cable like the diagram showed. How did you get yours to work? What OS are you running? Someone please help me before I return this relay board.

Well, you asked how I got mine to work, so I had no idea to what you were referring to, so I assumed you just couldn't get it hooked up.
as for the software, make sure your serial is on COM1. I think that is the default.

that thing blows monkey chunks.
I threw my out. Found out that it doesn't take well to some newer puter systems. All the relays turn on at boot time too.

thats the only problem i see. but i have my amps on a delay so that i dont get a pop with the computer boot up and i have wired the 12v side to the delay. works fine. plus this program allows you to have either an on/off or an adjustable delay momentary switch

and...its work fine on my athlon 700.

This topic has not been visited in awhile that I can see. I am looking for some information on getting 8 24volt ouputs and 8 12v outputs from a carPC. I am also looking for some way to set it up with a nice skin if anyone can help that would be great. I want to control my windows and my suspension with the PC.

I would also like to see if there would be any way to control the relays through bluetooth and use my Siemens SX66 to open windows and such. If anyone has anyinformation on this that would be great.

Dude, instead of resurrecting an old thread unrelated to your question, you need to look around. There are several threads about controlling power windows and locks and stuff through the PC.
