thanks so much for the software, really make my life easier
do you have any idea why it took well over 3 minutes after power disconnected for the laptop to restart (then eventually hibernate)?
if I use single action, shutdown works without problem

blessani,
disregards my last message
the long waiting for shutting down caused by igmon, somehow I messed up the config.
Now I am using other skin w/o igmon, shutcontrol works great!!

If you are receiving this error, it sounds like the .NET framework is not installed, or not installed properly. Go to here to download it.
This is already covered in the FAQ. Try that first, then post back.

Software can't restore a computer from hibernate - since hibernate will turn the computer totally off - which is why I outlined the circuitry to how to make a device which can turn the computer on when the AC is restored.

just to answer this question
Because it's an easy coding enviornment. It's easy to distribute programs with less complications. All you need is the .NET framework and you're pretty much guaranteed that any program that you distribute will work. No ocx dll issues.
.NET restricts what applications can do, what they can access, and how they manage memory. Meaning less crashes and better stability. It makes it easier to write good code instead of using old hacks of yore.
.Net is language independant. You can write in C, J+, C++, C#, J#, Java, VB.net, and more.
It's easy to write safe, managed, pure code
Also programs designed for .Net are usually blazingly fast. The only time its slow is when you port a program and barely optimize it.
Also on the fly optimization so the more you run the program the faster it becomes.
Hell with mono you can run .NET applications on LINUX!
It's like java on acid. Just because you hate microsoft doesnt mean its bad. It's the future, deal with it :P

system tray
This software is great, just what I was looking for! Is there a way to keep the icon from showing up in the system try, or to restrict the user from clicking on it? I am hiding the icon, but if I expand the system tray, I can click on and configure the software. I'm thinking maybe a registry setting?

This software is great. Is there anyway to have it start minimized?
Thanks...Paul

Hi Kathryng, I PM'ed you, although a little late it seems, I can still make those changes for you.
Hi Pshadwick, that feature is already in it, if you read the revision history, I renamed start minimized to "Discrete Mode". Enjoy!

First of, thx so much this is a great app!!
question..
when set to hibernation, the app list runs and works , and the resume app list runs and works. when standby is selected neither do. Also the count down is not displayed.
also When using pause/mute. Winamp mutes and pauses on standby 50% of the time 100% good on hibernation . On resume standby it never unpauses unmutes, hibernation I believe is 100%.
on a side note why does the resume minimize apps? Because of this I was forces to use a bat file, and that leaves a cmd prompt on my start bar. Also somtimes it runs 7 of them and 7 winamps at once. Don't even know how that is possible since winamp wont allow this. So is there a way to not minimize my apps on resume.?>
Again thx, so far I'm ok with out the bells and whistles, but would be a nice to have. Maybe its just my laptop.
