Could you tell us exactly what you're trying to accomplish? Like, I want twist right to increase volume and push down to play/pause..
Also, could you supply the current config.xml file that you're using now?
Lastly, have you made any changes to RR? Depending on what you are trying to do, this may or may not be necessary.
We'll need a bit more information before we can help!

I just received my SN today, and it looks like a work of art.
I've been through the first pages of this thread, but I'm so excited, that I can't wait and have to ask...what is the latest software that can be configured for SN that you fine gentelemen kindly developed?
Before going back to reading, I would like to thank everyone that engaged themselves into this project...I would've never bought the thing without your contributions, and would've missed out on so much...

Let us know if you use the drivers from here or the RBC9 driver. I'm using the RBC9 driver because I got the device when it first came out and that was the only thing available. As I'm too lazy to change it now that it's working I haven't used the other driver much, though it does have quite a bit of flexibility.

As I got an error with the software in this thread about a missing xce-c_2_7.dll (or something like that), I tried the software from the 3Dconnexion forum. It's good, as in it does the job, but it doesn't do it very well...you have to play woth the setting way too much in order to be able to use all the actions of SN and not to select 2 actions at once...that's why I'm very anctious to try the software in this thread, but can anyone send me the missing .dll? I'd like to mention that I have downloaded the binary from the specified link, but there's no xce-c_2_7.dll there...

I just got a SN and I'm using the RBC9 driver too and trying to integrate it with RR and iGuidance. I wonder though, with SN, there's no way to drag using the SN? It would be nice as I like to pan around the maps sometimes and it would be great if I can do it from SN, rather than the touchscreen?
Any other workaround?
Much appreciate your help.

Hi all,
I am at work so don't have chance to read through all 23 pages here.. but I gather this is a replacement driver that allows new features for the SN ?
Can anyone tell me if the following is possible - Use the SN to navigate RR menus and control volume etc via hotkeys for example. Then is it possible to switch the SN to act like a mouse either via another hotkey or pulling up on the stick etc.. so that it can be used like a joystick to move the mouse around the screen ?
Cheers!

I found the dll, but the exe still won't run. I get an error message indicating that the program needs to close. can anyone offer a suggestion?

Whoa, lots of activity. I've clearly been away for too long.
Cris, I can't distribute that dll with the driver unfortunately, due to GPL goodness. I suppose a readme or something is in order here. You can get the appropriate file(s) from;
http://archive.apache.org/dist/xml/x..._7_0/binaries/
htsource, this driver allows you to simulate a mouse, or send any of the recognized commands to RR, so it should be possible to do what you're trying to do, might just take some tweaking with RR settings etc.
swift_gti, this driver can do everything you've described, but requires configuration. Details on that should be available in this thread, if you run into a road block feel free to post here and I can hopefully provide some guidance.
AWehmeyer, there are a number of possibilities for the error, unfortunately the app doesn't produce a log file so we can't be sure. It's likely a problem with the config file, which is still fairly cryptic if you're not familiar with XML. Are you trying to run the app with the default config file, or have you modified it?

Thanks cherrybomb.
My spacenavigator arrived yesterday so I've been messing around with it since
One question I have is how can I auto switch layout based on which RR screen I'm in ?
I see I can switch it depending on app.. but since the different screens all run within RR I'm a little stuck!
Is there any way to issue a switch command to the RBC9 driver from RR ?
Cheers!

I don't know anything (or very little) about the RBC9 driver provided by Connexion for the device. What I can tell you, is using my software, when RR switches to a new screen it can send a window message to my software, causing it to switch contexts.
Or, better yet, you can have my software send "generic" codes to RR and have RR perform different actions based on the screen it's on. Either way is fairly simple, but requires some work in the ExecTbl.ini file.
