I've no problem with using Xerces, I use it lots in my work on Java. I'm just not familiar with hooking it all up in c++ yet.
good idea about the gesture recognition. I imagine an option to have gestures constantly on, or enabled by some button would be good, and not too hard to implement.
I will be resuming work as soon as I have a place to stay. I'm now officially homeless till the end of March!

I read the whole thread plus the other 3 threads(Price drop, inh taken apart, similar device from mp3car's store). I know that you guys trying to find a custom solution for our purpose. I don't think drop this integration to go with other solution is an idea. You guys almost there already. Basically everything is already figure out. If you drop now, time spent so far is a waste. I am not saying that the other solution on SN forum is not good but it's not for our purpose.
So keep up good work and let it kicking guys.

Wow Sama you are dedicated! I don;t knwo why you are homeless til March but to continue work on this is above and beyond.
If you want to come to the US I have an apartment I am leasing til the end of March but won't be there because I bought a townhome.
Seriously though, good work.

I'm homeless 'cos I sold my place and I don't get the new place I bought till March the 23rd. I had to do it that way or I would have lost the sale or the purchase! cheers for the offer tho
I'm working on a laptop, so I'm just waiting to find a room local to my work for this period, and then I'll resume on this. I can't take credit tho, so far it's cherrybomb that's done all the c++ groundwork.

I second the motion on not letting this project die, I just got my SNPE via UPS this morning, I've been lost playing wigth it in SketchUp all day long! but I've gotten pretty comfortable finally with not having to switch to the orbit tool and take my left hand off the SN to move around... If any graphic's are in order for this project let me know...

Ohh no, this project is most certainly still on track.
A nice little 16x16 system tray icon would be a nice start, I'm sure there'll be other stuff.

You're welcome to check the project out of anonymous CVS from sourceforge and take a look. See my signature for a link.
The code that is up there is constantly in flux, since I'm sorta using it as a storage place, though the build is never broken.
Right now, it's just setup to capture the HID stuff, convert it into short int's for each of the axes, and right now, send some window messages to RR.
Consider it prototype stuff, but it's getting better all the time.
If you feel you'd like to help, go ahead and sign up for a SourceForge account, and I can set you up as a developer.

I'll put some stuff together and post shortly... the link in your sig to the sourceforge project, is that for this? or was that started by someone else for some other purpose?

That is for this, started by me.
It's confusing, I used my "normal" nickname "qwikrex". I keep forgetting I call myself "cherrybomb" here.
qwikrex = cherrybomb = Ryan = me!

The icon idea
So, I played around a bit with some ideas for an icon, I tried to replicate the look of the SpaceNav from above(as much as you can in 48x48 pixels that will down-sample well.) and this is what I've got so far....
48x48
32x32
16x16
SpaceNav.ico (Contains all three)
Any ideas on improvements or changes?

Do it with a vector based program like Illustrator or Xara and you will get rid of all the jaggies.

Yeah, I was planning on using Illustrator to do the final, I wasn't at a computer that had it installed though so I just did a quick mock-up of the idea before I lost it, and also to get input on basics before really spending time on it.. I created a few more, but they're on my machine at work so I'll have to post them in the AM. Other than the jaggies, any thoughts?
