Well that explains it. I was testing MediateICE on a different machine (not typically used for media) so there is still a chance it will work on my Carpc then.
As for navigation, you're implementing it via an external application? I know it's alot more work, but I have to ask. Why does everyone do this instead of integrating directly into the media front end using, say, the Destinator SDK..? Just curious.
Keep up the awesome work!

Probably because the navigator screen can't be resized.
So I dont think you can get it integrated in the front end.

Nice and smooth... If you need someone for testing I'm open. This looks promising keep it going. Get IG embedded and you'll have something great!

Sure it does... and most of the US uses IG.
Support for the ADS/Silabs FM piece would be really nice.

Would that not be a reason to not use IG then? Have you tried navigator yet? Although the damn screen cant be resized, its surprisingly touchscreen friendly. What I also liked is the choice of colors. The map is more visible in daylight than, let's say, Destinator.
Still, my personal favoritie is still Navigon. However, Navigator can be used in Europe as well as the US.

GPS for Downunder
Hey this looks cool but unfotuneatly unless we can run Destinator 3 Maps we are stuffed as Iguidance etc do not have anything outside the USA and some european countries.
In a poll IG was 1 Destinator was 2 and then there was the rest.
One last request, RadioShark 2 support. I love listening to the radio.
Cheers Firebird

I've been running mediate for a while now and I really like it, it seems very feature rich and fast too. I'm waiting for the Sat Nav integration as well.
I think in one of the earlier posts the @homemedia guy said they were planning to integrate IG and PC Navigator 6 (and 7 when it comes out).
But I think they are planning on having the ability to launch external apps too. So with that I would think you would be able to plugin the Sat Nav software of your choice.
I'm looking forward to having a go at writing some plugins for mediate and perhaps a new skin too ... time as always is a problem though :-(

Incidentally has anyone had a go at creating a new skin or messing with the existing one ?
From what I can see it looks like things have been put together in a very modular fashion.
I'm not very good with graphics and stuff like that, which is why I haven't had a go thus far at this.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had a ago ?

Ias there any news? I looked at the web page, but it still just points to mediate (not ice).
I would be interested in the progress that has been made so far and the potential of the API/SDK?!
I am looking to integrate my IPOD somehow!

Huh? Umm. What drugs are you on? What has resizing windows got to do with coding up an integrated GPS interface as part of the front end instead of using a separate application?
