Severity 2 Loss of Map projection, white background only - 1.0.8.1 - 1.1.1.0

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

1.0.8.1 - 1.1.1.0

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

Loss of Map projection, white background only

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

yes

If no, please describe your system here.

Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.

After a clean install and upgrade from 1.0.6.1, i lost the map projection in SD. All that was drawn was the car present position, and a white background at all zoom levels and with all virtual earth modes.

If the SD instance was run in windowed mode (not full screen), then the map would appear, but once full screen was selected the map would disappear again.

After several adjustments made I discovereed that the map could be gained with 800x600 and 16bit colour depth. 1024x768 or 32bit would not work in full screen mode

Disappointly I appear to already be running DX9 and my attempt to update it made no difference.

I am really getting confused about what is going on. Can someone else post the display settings they are running SD at?

I am running 800x600, 16bit (if i use 32 I get no SD visable at all but can here my music playing). The map is only visable if i run SD windowed, yet before in version 1.0.6.3 it all worked fine?

Im pretty confused as to what has been changed in the new version as its not really very helpful to have SD without any navigation.

Interstingly, for the people that have reported the Map turning into "Lines" at certain times, i think this is related to the same issue. I have been playing with SD windowd, and if i enlarge it to the edge of the screen then the map turns in to random lines with SD at about 3/4 screen size. Anything beyond this then the map disappears totally...

As far as details on my graphics card, i am using a SIS mirrage graphics card. It is DX7H/W and DX9 S/W compatible. I am running the lastest version of the drivers and as discussed above have checked DX9 is installed correctly.

This was not an issue on 1.0.6.3 with the same machine.

Anyone? I believe this is related to the other bug issue of navigation vertical lines, as i do get vertical lines if i run sd in windowed mode, then if i reduce the size of the window further i get the map projection appear.

I have also noticed that the first time you run SD (per windows full shutdown and restart) that sd runs but only displays a black screen.

The media resumes and the touchscreen continues to work if u press the windows key, but sd runs in a hung state.

There are clearly some video driver issues with sd in the case of the sis drivers, but i would be grateful if this could be fixed.

Once you use tadk manager to kill sd and start it again it worksfine until you shut windows down fullly (ie not effected by hibernate)

PLease for goodness sake can someone at least confirm that this is being looked at?

Surely the point of this bug forum is that things can be looked at as we find them (oweing to incomplete testing of the product which we all accept), rather than us just posting for posting sake?

Thread closed due to a lack of follow-up from the original poster. 8 days have passed without a response.

If the original poster would like to have this thread back opened, he/she may do so by going to the 'Thread Tools' drop down box at the top of the thread. If the Original Poster does so, the Original Poster must post information in response to requests for additional testing. Else, the bug report will be closed again.

This issue is still present! I think it is a bit daft that you close this thread after 8 days of no reply from me, yet I have not hand any replies to this problem other than try it with the upgrade!

THe problem is exactly the same as in 1.0.8.x, but did not exist at all in 1.0.6.3! This problem has been going on long enough now I would like some kind of idea when it is likely to be fixed (particullaly as it seems related to the nav lines bug that is reported)

Geeky - I'm sorry that you feel it is a bit 'daft'. If we don't have you report back to us that it still isn't working in the newest release, we have to assume that it's been fixed.

If you open a bug report, we need you to follow up on it when responses are posted, otherwise, our developers are spending time in areas where they don't need to.

You have reopened the issue, as has been stated that you can do.

We cannot leave bug reports open indefinitely without responses from the bug reporters.

There is also no system info in your user profile so we have no idea what hardware you are using. We want to get these bugs fixed, but we really need all of the data to help. We should have really asked for this on 5-25. Please bear with us while we are adjusting to the new bug reporting process.
