Severity 3 System Tray Options Window Unreadable - 1.0.9.8 - 1.1.1.0 (Vista)

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

1.0.9.8 - 1.1.1.0 (Vista)

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

System Tray Options Window Unreadable

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

Yes
If no, please describe your system here.
Are you able to reproduce this bug at will?

Yes
Please list the steps required to recreate the issue you are reporting.
This occurs in Windows Vista.
When I right-click on the StreetDeck icon in the system tray, the right-click option window that comes up which would normally have options listed, shows up as just a very skinny white window with no words in it. I have attached a screenshot for your reference.
This issue only appears on my Vista machine. My Xp machine does not exhibit this same issue.
Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.

What?!? Then do you mind explaining this post:

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/725376-post1.html

That says that Streetdeck requires "Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or Vista."

Or, maybe the fact that in my other bug post, Chuck asked me for a log, instead of just responding with "Windows Vista is not supported with SD."

This post was based on the bata version of vista and we anticipated a smooth transition between XP and vista. There are many outstanding issues working with the current version of Vista. I apologize for the mix-up. We have done minimal internal testing with Vista and streetdeck. If you would like to continue reporting these issues we will be happy to look into the causes and try for a fix. Thank you

I understand. Vista is still new and the stability and solidarity of Streetdeck is based on XP. I understand that. I did spend $200 on Streetdeck though, and I can PROMISE that I would not have spent money on it just yet had I known that you guys consider Vista to be unsupported. In addition to the the post referenced above, I'd like to quote Chuck from a few days before I decided to pay for Streetdeck:

"I use Vista on my primary development machine, however, its not on any in car unit or lab system we test on. It should work and there are no issues that I know about remaining in Vista, but I don't know how many people use it in the real world."

This comes from the following post, for your reference.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/1083813-post3.html

He does specify that it's not on any car or lab unit, but he also says that his main development machine is a Vista machine and that there are no known remaining issues with Vista.

So you see where my confusion was with the whole lack of Vista support statement?

I appreciate your reply and willingness to help. And because I paid for SD, I will definitely be continuing to report issues. I know that XP issues will likely take priority and be resolved more quickly. With the fact that your main developer is working on a Vista machine, I would think the Vista issues can be addressed too.

I honestly wouldn't mind having XP, but my laptop came pre-installed with Vista, and with all I've done to it up to this point, I'm not about to start over with a format just to install XP just to get one program to work. I'm sure you can understand.

Thanks,
Nola

I can understand your frustration. I will report your issues to our engineers the same way I do the XP issues. The difference is that I can't trouble shoot and recreate the issues to decided the problem. We will make this a priority in the near future to have a vista machine here for testing. I hope to support vista better in the near future.

I take it you mean 1.1.1.0 rather than 1.1.0.0?

+1 For me too, you weren't kidding when you said SD isn't supported in Vista, don't get me wrong though I know it takes time.
