Severity 4 - Lowest Scrolling through large playlist pauses when pressing down page down arrow - 1.0.9.8

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

1.0.9.8

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

Scrolling through large playlist pauses when pressing down page down arrow

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

Yes
If no, please describe your system here.

Are you able to reproduce this bug at will?

Yes
Please list the steps required to recreate the issue you are reporting.
Select "Play All" then tap the down arrow in the lower right corner. WHen holding it down, it begins to scroll then pauses after a couple of screens or multiple screens. Once in a while, it goes through several dozen screens then stops.
To get the list to scroll I have to repeatedly tap the arrow to scroll.
Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.

I had the problem with the playlist not saving so it's possible that some of my music files have improperly formatted XML information since that was the cause of it but I don't know how to see when files are "correct".

I think this is just an issue where the play list needs to fully load.

Also, I have noticed this same issue in WinAmp with large playlists and with WMP 10 and 11.

Has any consideration been given to enable scrolling similar to the iPhone. You can use your figure to flick the playlist. How hard you do this is how fast the playlist scrolls...its a very nice mechanism to scrolling through a very large list (I have to give Apple respect points for effective GUI dev.)

knyarko - there are many things that the developers are working on currently. Before looking into additional features for StreetDeck they would need to research the possibility of using such a feature without infringing upon any Apple patents or rights.

Also, at this time, the developers are busy working on know issues and working on the newer version of the Navigation engine.

Because of that, scrolling features will be deemed a very low priority at this time.

I ran the update and thought the issue was fixed...

When I started Streetdeck, the first module that opens is Music. I already had the entire playlist loaded when it started(as expected).

I then pressed the down arrow and the playlist scrolled all the way down to the last song with out pausing. I then scrolled up thinking the issue was resolved and it paused in several spots.

As I hold down the scroll button it scrolls and when it pauses the album art fades into view.

So in short, it looked like it was fixed, but it is still showing the same problem. I tested on my desktop and didn't see the problem. I only see it on my CarpPC.

I don't see any information under your user name as to what your carpc specs are but you've stated in your bug report that the system that's under your name is the same system you noticed this bug on.

Since it's not happening on your home computer but it's happening on your carpc, this is a pc related issue and not a bug in streetdeck. It's probably the fact that your computer is a bit underpowered and cannot smoothly handle the list.

Because of this, this issue is considered functioning as designed and this bug report is closed.
