Severity 2 XM Crashes and Malfunctions - 1.1.0.0

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

1.1.0.0

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

XM Crahses and Malfunctions using XMPCR on VISTA

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

Yes
If no, please describe your system here.

Are you able to reproduce this bug at will?

Yes
Please list the steps required to recreate the issue you are reporting.

If I have the recording line set to anything but disbaled SD crashes and the log file has this warning - WARNING: CAudioInputLine::InitRecordingLine - Could not get the line controls for source mux or mixer while initilaizing. This happens once you click on the XM button. I have attached the crash log file. (2007-07-25 15_56)

I think this may have something to do with the fact that it is Vista because SD doesn't give me the option of Line in for XM I only get Master volume or disabled. I had to get the most up to date realtek driver and the associated software to have the option to use the line in as a pass though, but I got the XMPCR software working perfectly.

Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.

The second issue is that once I get XM running in SD when I switch to another module it doesn't mute the XM so I get two things playing at the same time. The only way to mute the XM is to go to settings and click save settings, which I think resets the module. However if I am playing an MP3 and I switch to XM SD does indeed stop the MP3. Which again I think has to do with SD not being able to control the line in as well in Vista.

Also when the XM screen comes in up in SD I get a message that says something about the source being inaudible would I like to adjust the volume setting, I click no but I think this may also have something to with why SD can't mute XM and switch modules. I have also attached the log file on this one as well. (2007-07-26 16_18)

The master volume slider I found does control something. It contols the SD sounds but nothing else, which also probably has something to do with this issue.

Thanx in advance for all of your help.

Yes, you should be able to change the title.

I'll pass this along to our developers since they should have a Vista Machine they can test this on. However, I don't believe they have a PCR.

Thank you for all of your help, I think the same problem may occur with the xm direct setup as well because I think the issue is with controlling and accessing the line-in with Vista.

I think the upgrade didn't install properly. I need to reinstall and get the Nav going again, then I'll report back.

Did you install 1.1.0.9 or 1.1.1.0?

The update in the link I posted is old now.

I really would suggest you subscribe to the updates thread.

I reverted back to 1.1.0.0 to get the Nav to work but the issue still exists in both versions.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running SD 1.1.1.0 on a VIA PX-10000.

I was having a heck of a time with the HD Audio driver- now that works fine, but I can'd get the GPS and XM-PCR to run at the same time without throwing an error from the ser2pl driver.

I've ordered a MR-350P Bulkhead with a serial interface to replace the Pharos-360 GPS antenna.

Other than that... I'm not impressed with the XM over PC sound. My MP3s sound excellent- XM... not so much. Wish there was a way to run the XM output through the SD audio enhancer.
