Severity 4 - Lowest SD shows movement when sitting in my living room - 1.1.0.0

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?
1.1.0.0

Please give a basic description of the issue here.
While my bluetooth GPS sits on the back deck and my TC1100 TabletPC is connected and inside, SD will always show me in motion. At this point I'm completely unable to shut down SD without killing it in task manager.

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?
No, it's a TC1100 TabletPC running XP TabletPC Edition. It has 1 gig of mem

If no, please describe your system here.
it's a TC1100 TabletPC running XP TabletPC Edition. It has 1 gig of mem

Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.
I'm using an older Socket bluetooth GPS. I can reproduce about 4 out of 5 times when running SD. The Navigation shows low GPS signal and my GPS has a 3 sat lock.

How is this a relevant bug? From your description, it doesn't seem to affect the in-car usabilty of SD...

When you say "in motion" is it spinning in place and moving a few feet in any direction?
Or are you driving somewhere in Maryland?

If it's spinning in place and moving only a few feet, that's normal, as it's getting position from multiple satellites.

If you're driving in Maryland, it's because you're reading from a GPS log that's included with SD for testing purposes. Search the SD forums about this issue, if it's applicable. You can delete the file and set your GPS to the actual COM port with the GPS unit.

Thread closed. This is not a StreetDeck bug but rather being unfamiliar with how StreetDeck functions.

Please note the subject of the thread "SD shows movement when sitting in my living room."

While sitting still SD has shown me at speeds of 25 up to 160 MPH! So, whenever SD thinks I'm moving, and I'm not, it maximizes the window and will not allow me to shut down SD (or perform other actions).

I understand there's a reason SD won't allow certain actions while in motion. My problem is that SD continuously "thinks" I'm in motion.

Please tell us what you have set in the following location:

Settings > Navigation > Select the GPS device port or other GPS device.

What do you have set here?

Also, does this happen when you have your tablet in the car? How far are you from the BT GPS device when you notice this happening?

I don't have the ability to look at these settings. As soon as I start SD it sees me in motion, 188 MPH this time ;-) And since I'm "in motion" it won't let me view the settings. I don't know if this information is in the config.xml file, but I've attached that. I've removed an address from there and replaced with ***

I see this problem both in the truck, bluetooth GPS is 1 foot away. And, in the house where the GPS is about 6 feet away.

Disconnect the GPS temporarily to look at the settings.

Duh! Can't believe I didn't think of that.

7 - COMM 7 is what it is set to. I have to start SD with the -allcomm switch to get it to see my GPS.

I bought a new GPS which came yesterday. SiRF III so much faster to a fix. With the new GPS I have not been having the same problems. It finally appears to work for me.

I was using an older Socket Bluetooth GPS. It works with MS Streets & Trips and Tom Tom on my PDA. StreetDeck just didn't like it.
