Severity 4 - Lowest Shuffle Problem - Music and Satellite Modules - 1.1.0.0

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

1.1.0.0

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

Enabling "Shuffle" option in Music module is problematic when trying to select a song, it also seems to interfere with Satellite Radio module.

Is the system that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

Yes

If no, please describe your system here.

Jetway J7F2WE2G-OC-PB (2Ghz) - (VIA CN700)
1GB PC 4200 RAM
120GB Seagate 2.5" Hard Drive
Panasonic CW 8124-b DVD Drive
Lilliput EBY-701 Screen
AyAy Sir USB GPS Receiver
Sirius SC-C1 & MJS Sirius USB Interface
ADS Instant FM USB Module
nLite XP

Are you able to reproduce this bug at will?

Yes

Please list the steps required to recreate the issue you are reporting.

When "Shuffle" option is selected in Music module, I am unable to select particular song. It will change to "song X" and when I try to select another one, it changes back to that "song X" again. BUT, if I select a song that is further down the list from "song X" It will work properly.

Also, related to the shuffle function...when I uncheck the shuffle option and then select a song...it goes through the playlist randomly and plays like ten or twelve songs for like a split second each one after another before "settling down" and resuming normal operation.

I also noticed that it happens similarly to the Satellite Radio module (using Sirius) when the Shuffle option is enabled in Music...just doesn't move as fast since the Tuner can't change as quickly...so when i choose one particular station, it decides to choose another one at random. But when I again uncheck the shuffle option (in the music module) it selects the stations at random for a bit...then settles down and I can select the station again.

Please provide any relevant information regarding the issue you have encountered.
Nothing extra that I haven't already mentioned.

Some of your media is probably protected or you don't have the right codec installed so StreetDeck can't play it. When this happens, StreetDeck just moves onto the next song. Verify that you can play your music in media player, once you get it working there, it should work in StreetDeck.

The sirius issue is probably unrelated to shuffle as there is no concept of shuffle in satelltie radio since stations don't end like mp3s.

None of the MP3s are protected, or require a special codec, nor are damaged. I can see that it may happen once...but it manages to pick multiple files in a row that it can't play? I don't think its that lucky. The thing is that I can play the Mp3s in Streetdeck once it goes through the "shuffling" problem.

I have also been able to recreate this problem on my laptop that I've been using to develop a SD Skin.

Tranman - you stated yes that your carpc specs under your user name are the same as the system you encountered this issue on, however, you don't have any specs under your user name.

Please see this thread: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/anno...r-profile.html

I am not able to recreate this issue on my laptop or my carpc. believed to be a user specific/machine specific issue. I use shuffle on a regular basis.

I've attached a video of this on my laptop.

I'll make a video of what happens on my setup...it only seems to happen when I do a PLAY ALL playlist...but the Satellite Radio issue is gone...I think it was a fluke or something.
