BMW skin + minor pet peeve fixes
Hey Everyone,
Decided to try my luck with skin editing a little while ago and got it almost done today. Looking for comments and suggestions.
Mainly what I've done is: - Change the background
- Reduced the amount of buttons on front screen
- Changed keyboard to QWERTY
- Changed numbers to number pad
- Added volume control to nav screen
- Added ability to quickly add current GPS location to favorites
- Added sat signal strength to the sat screen (in addition to overlay)
- Enabled module switcher access (accessible by pushing the E46 label)
- Added a calender module (accessible by pressing time on home screen)
Below are some pics.
I had a few questions: - Can I, and if so how, modify the modules that show up in module switcher
- How to select a specific font in the script, i.e. IFont to RenderString
- How do I package the skin together with the calendar scripted module I made?
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Mark

Haha, sorry. As I went to post I realized you just posted a Bimmer skin. It's weird - there is no BMW skin for ages and all of a sudden we post at almost the same time.
I just had lots of little nit picky things I wanted to change since I started using StreetDeck so I was slowly working on that (and by slowly I mean really slowly ).
As for the download, I want to clean up a few little things and then I will post it. Not sure if I will get it done today as I have some preparartion to do for my out of town guests, but I will try.

Downloads
I decided to post this skin... I will be updating it a little over the next few weeks so any suggestions are appreciated.
Make sure to install the Calendar script before installing the skin. (still need to figure out if I can crack open the package zip and include them together, hopefully that does not break anything)....
Here are the links Calendar and the skin.
Hope you like it!

See this for chainging the list of primary modules

Fonts work kind of wierd in StreetDeck mostly for performance reasons. There are only so many fonts available and basically 2 for each size, a bold one and a normal one. However, some sizes also have special fonts, like the bold 150 font does this outerglow thing, some have borders and some don't and these can vary by skin too. There's no way to select with font type you get directly, you basically select the size of font you want, actually you don't even do that, you just tell it what size in pixels you want to render to and it will automatically select the font size that fits best to fill the pixel height you wanted . Also, RenderString does not currently support selecting bold fonts so it will always select the non-bold font of that height.
You can't package them together, there is no package mechanism for this. You could create a special update package (sdu) that woudl install both of them, but it wouldn't register the addin or select the skin.

Thank you!
Cool, thanks for the info, Chuck! SD amazes me with all it's [hidden] capabilities every time I am educated about something new.
Which brings me to this questions: there is so much good info on the wiki, but I never seem to be able to find it, is there a table of contents of all the topics somewhere there?

I like it! It is one of the best subtle deviations from the original I have ever seen that keeps the professionalism of StreetDeck in tact.

All the streetdeck content can be found under Articles from the main wiki page. There is a general table of contents and developer's table of contents there.

Beautiful car, how do you like the 335? I will make one for ya, I have lots of "StreetDeck" plans this weekend so I will try to lump this in with the rest. (unless we get some fresh powder in the mountains )
