Streetdeck, seems better than Centrafuse.. anyone agree?
Well I tried both StreetDeck and Centrafuse and in my opinion StreetDeck is a much better program. To me, Centrafuse seems way more confusing to use and less user friendly. I mean, it does have a web broser, calc, calendar and memo pad built in, but other than that, i think SD wins hands down. I really hope to see some of those easy extras added in SD asap, without having to buy a new 2.0 version.. that would be awesome. So what do you guys think, SD or Centrafuse? Which one do you prefer?

I like the gestures ability that SD has which CF does not, but I prefer CF's interface. I use both (based on my mood that day and who I'm showing off my setup to) but I probably use CF more. Both have their strong points. To say one is better than the other is of course entirely subjective.

I Prefer Centerfuse.. For 3 Reasons
1: It is Sexy
2: It Doesnt Crash ( Street Deck Has Crashed on me 9 times )
3. It Imports my music unlike Street Deck
Of Course I am only using the 30 day trials these are my experincies so far!

Hmm, I guess its just a matter of opinion, but i really prefer the look of SD better, and it has never crashed on me (other than once or twice when i tried to use the browse function in the gps parts). And the new version of SD can be set to import and check for new music on every startup!

Skin Editing isn't the easiest, but once you learn the program it isn't that bad. I could really care less about editing the skin though, the stock one is already really nice!

Cetrafuse reminds me of a Porsche. Fantastic car, not really much to look at on the outside, and even worse on the inside. Both are terribly functional == read: extremely good at what they do -- but the interface of Centrafuse (and Porsche) is downright awful. Far too austere to be usable/comfortable. Those Germans are mean engineers, terrible artists!
StreetDeck on the other hand is an 80's Ferrari. It looks and runs absolutely incredible, bar none, but isn't with out it's quirks and missing features.
Here's hoping both apps mature to the level (and potential) they obviously have.
For what it's worth, I have no stability problems what so ever with Streed Deck. The only complaint I have is missing features (which are present in Centrafuse). I'm thinking that given time, both apps will represent the best car media interfaces available.

BlueF, just out of curiosity, what are the features present in CF that you feel SD is missing?

I can name some I liked and REALLY wish StreetDeck has
- Memo Pad
- Calendar
- Calculator
- Built in web browser
Those things seem like they would extremely easy for the developer of SD to add in **nudges chuck**.. So i really haven't understood why they aren't in there. The Memopad could just be notepad pretty much, i just want something i can keep a log of my vehicle maintenance in, and the web browser can just be IE, shouldn't be hard to integrate.

The main feature I'd like to see upgraded to a more functional level is multi-monitor support.
I have an incredibly slick JDM pop-up monitor (top of dash, clock location) that I'd love to supplement my primary in dash screen (stock radio location, not in the above linked pic, which is not mine by the way).
A few weeks back, I actually downloaded Centrafuse when I found there was no (functional/useful) multi-monitor support in SD. While I've used Centrafuse in the past and wrote it off because the interface is too clunky/austere, I was surprised to find th multi-monitor support was fantastic. CF allows for configuring each video source (Playlist, Video/DVD, rear camera, visualizations, ODBII, etc) separately, to any of up to 5 supported monitors. This is in stark contrast to SD multi-monitor "support". For that matter, the level on customization/configuration is impressive in CF.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love SD. I purchased a copy earlier this year because I see great potential. Despite some board members ranting how broken SD is, I have absolutely no problems in day to day use. My only complaint is with missing features. And given that bluetooth is nearly available -- that and the newly release T3... I perceive ongoing signigicant development -- I can only hope multi-monitor support is on the short list.
That, and a clock present on all SD screens (without having to skin it myself)! : )

Agreed!
Aside from those PukerGuy has listed, the other feature I was quite impressed with in Centrafuse was it's approach internet connectivity. This consisted of a small light/button which indicated (green/red) and initiates net connectivity, appearing on every CF menu screen.
I should point out that SharpMat007 has created a similar mod for SD, which he kindly alerted me to and I haven't yet had a chance to test out. : }
