Listen to Internet Radio (shoutcast) with SD ?

Hello everyone !

I have a question:

I am using SD and most of the time listening to XM I have HighSpeed inet in my car 24/7 and I want to be able to listen for shoutcast internet radio stations.

For example I have some radio.asx file. Inside this file I have the following:

<asx version = "3.0">

RBM Radio Montreal Canada

<ref href = "http://vinzer.dyndns.org:8000"/>

</asx>

This is actually standart shoutcast info for MediaPlayer. If I run this file in Windows it will open Windows Media Player and start to play live stream from the internet. The adress of this live stream is: http://vinzer.dyndns.org:8000. It will be different for every inet radio station.

The question is: how to open this file in SD or how to listen for internet radio in SD (where to put the link for this radio: http://vinzer.dyndns.org:8000) ? I've tried to add this .asx file in to unindexed folder of SD (music/unindexed) and after I've started SD this file was indexed and moved in to SD's Music folder. But it did not apeared in the song list.
Please help me because I want to listen my inet radio with SD and I am sure it is possible
Thank you very much in advance

Yahoo internet music works from within streetdeck... you can see if your radio station is in there?

Yahoo Internet Music - it looks like I have Menu Item called Internet Radio, but it seems to be disabled because when I click on it nothing happens. Or Yahoo Music is the separate DigitalMod ?

Thank you

Actually, Streetdeck uses Windows Media Player for it's playback, and as such, should play any file compatible with WMP. however, the .ASX file format is a playlist format that is for video and audio, so windows refers to it as a video file. Streetdeck will only import audio files into it's library, so you need to rename the .ASX file to a .WAX (WAX is the same format of file as ASX, but it is specifically for audio only, so Streetdeck will import it). Once it is imported, you can call it up by browsing to:

MUSIC -> SELECT MUSIC -> LOCAL LIBRARY -> PLAYLISTS -> RBM Radio Montreal Canada

the WAX format (and ASX for that matter) are actually playlist files, and do support multiple entries. I have had mixed success with Streetdeck bringing them in though, when more than one entry is used. I think it might have something to do with the placement of the
tags, but haven't investigated further. EDIT: Nevermind about the problems... seems streetdeck doesn't like typos... as long as you are formatted correctly, it seems to work great!

For instance:
Code:
<asx version = "3.0">
Favorite Stations

RBM Radio Montreal Canada
<ref href = "http://vinzer.dyndns.org:8000"/>

Radio Margaritaville
<ref href = "mms://radmarg.wm.llnwd.net/radmarg_hi"/>
</asx>
