Features in next version.

Could be this is in the wrong place. I kinda remember a thread where you could post what you would like in a coming version. But I cant find it.

* Music paused when navigational direction is given. Same as others have wanted with music to be paused during a phone call. An option in setup where you could choose this would do the trick too.

* More night mode options. As is now it is on and of. For me it is too bright when driving on a non-lightened road and in night mode. I know i can manually adjust this. Find it to much of a hassle. I mean the thing about a front end is to make it user friendly and easy to use when driving. An option of choose what level of night mode would be really nice.

* USB-supported temperature sensor. I guess such a thing would be a walk in the park to make. Could be it allready exsist for what I know. An addin for this would be cool. Being able to read the outside and inside temerature onscreen would be great.

Would appreciate some feedback on my suggestions.

Well, for 'outside' you can use the Weather plugin

Although that has some limitations (sorry to hijack your thread here).
  • Must have the GPS enabled and tracking
  • Doesn't always get the right reading. For example, my zipcode is 98052 (Redmond, WA), but the weather module always says, "The weather for Woodinville is..."
  • Doesn't have a way to just tell it to load the weather for a zipcode (like Centrafuse does)
  • Not really a flaw, as there isn't a better way to do this, but you must have an internet connection of course
  • Having said that, it's annoying that it doesn't 'save' the weather, so if you try to refer back to it later, and you have no net connection, you're screwed.

I have tried what you are saying. IMO it really sucks.
I mean how hard could it be making an USB temperature measure device.
Not that I am capable.

Given the plethora of other serious defects in SD, I personally would rather see dev time devoted to bigger issues.

Even if you had a temperature sensor, what does that do for you? You can't control the temperature of your car any differently than manually adjusting it. My Scion xtC has an outside temp in the dash already. But ultimately I *know* if it's freezing/cold/nice/warm/hot inside or outside. roll down a window. walk to the car. etc.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just curious what real need you'd have for this? Am I missing something?

Having said that, I just typed "USB Temperature Sensor" in google and got thousands of hits. Most range about $100 +/-. I swear we had a cheapy one here at my work that we got for like $30+. I'm sure "you" could write a mod or hire someone to write one for you, as it would most likely have to be written to that particular sensor's API. I'd be surprised if they are standardized.

No offence taken.
I would like it because I live in Norway. In wintertime its mostly freezing and sometimes not. I was only thinking it would be nice to know without stop or open the window and cool down the entire car. I dont have a teperature sensor in my car.

Yes I have done some googling my self. And I know I could get someone to write me a mod for it. Problem is I am a noob regarding programming. I guess when SD is updated to 1.1.1...whatever. I would have the mod updated aswell.
And since I am a noob. I also dont know how much time it would take SD developers to implement this in SD.

But hey it could be its just me who would like this feature. A friend of mine also think its a good idea. Could be we both live in Norway.
