Don't like trials where I can't use GPS fully. I would like to check out my area with GPS. I have noticed CF takes up alot more usuage (MEM and CPU) then SD, also couldn't get the XM working (the one from MP#car.com)
Heres an idea for CF, offer a competitor switchover price like a lot of software companies do, so those of us who bought "a soon to be fully functional" version of SD, don't have to shell out 300 more. Maybe mp3car can sponsor it. Give me a 50% discount and I will buy it this week, if not I guess I hold my breath for SD, or switch to RR b/c I surely ain't sheel out over $200 for software again.
FYI---on mp3cars page about CF it says there will be a upgrade to 1.5 regarding the phone control (CF is at 1.2) but on CF website, they have nearly the identical wording, but refer to 2.0.
I wonder if CF bought out GOC and hired him to finish thier phone support over there because of licensing restrictions facing over on SD side with Parrot, and the other companies.
Just a thought.

Didn't know the GPS was limited in the trial, as I haven't installed it yet. Understandable though, as otherwise people would likely use it without paying. Hopefully, I'll be ok on the memory and CPU usage with 2ghz P4/512.

Other than bluetooth....not working..I don't see whats wrong with SD...hiccups every 2 of 3 weeks is fine..infact..if it worked reall flawlessly..I'd be ****ed..I need something to constantly fix..Its the geeks way.keeps my tech on the edge....If you expect..SD to work like a cadillac.. don't buy it...or sell your licence..and....go get tom tom it even has bluetooth.

So, you are saying, a paid for product, a commercial product, shouldn't be expected to work relatively close to error free? (MS Windows Vista not withstanding)
If I wanted that, I would have gone with a free front end. Given that we paid for SD, we, as paying customers, expect something better than is available for free.

You can download a free trial of Map Point. There's even a FAQ about it.

If you were following the conversation fully (no offense) you would notice we were talking about CF not SD. Thier destinator map system only has NYC and Germany on its GPS mapping. I know they have a plugin for Mappoint if that was what you were refering to, but if I was goign to jump to some one else I wanted to see thier GPS mapping program.

Wheewww that's a relief I was sitting here in a tub of warm water with a razor to my wrist.... now that I know StreetDeck is ok AND being supported to boot, that makes life worth living again
Man I can't wait for all the good stuff "comming soon" from SD
Although I have to thank SD for a great line I've been using, now when my girl friend ask if I'm almost done I just say "Comming soon" ^_^

But, alas, the damage to my confidence has already been done. Now, I just don't know if I can trust myself with numbers...I guess I could be blowing this whole thing out of proportion and unduly criticizing the SD team(!). To avoid such unseemly behaviour, I now humbly supplicate my fellow mp3car forum members to help me better understand my own limitations. Please, good sirs, has it been... - Two (2) years OR one (1) year since SD was announced with bluetooth and traffic support coming soon?
-
- Forty (40) OR thirty (30) days since GoC last posted in the support forums?
-
- Ninety (90) OR eleventy-million (11ty,000,000) U-turns I've been forced to make because SD navigation doesn't know which way I'm going?
Any help anyone can provide will be most greatly appreciated.
PS.
