Funny thing, I've been doing the same. I've also looked at CF, and while it looks great (and no, I don't want to start another debate on which is better), I refuse to give MP3car any more money for a front end, not after purchasing a supposed professionally developed front end, with professional and continuing support.

If you are really interested in CF, everyone and their mother sell it (If it's just an MP3Car thing).

WOW Darque that was some statment, WHAT Caelric and Kalt (my hero) chimming in too. Honestly its beyond my comprehension what is going on with SD. Long time users like yourself, and others are already looking into or have gone to other front-ends. Yet still no relevant statement has been made at this point I feel SD has garned so much resentment among the most of its existing users. That no STATEMENT they can make will be adequate or even come close to repairing the sef inflicted damage SD has done to its reputation.
Okay now thats thats out the way I'll will keep saying this unitl SD punches me in the mouth. If your interested in jumping boat and going to RR I highly recommend the LSX Void skin, aesthetically pleasing and great functionality especially if you have a large music collection. Did I mention it can do transparent AVS visualization too

If I were going, that is where I would go.

I don't have time to start fiddle fukcing with other FE's. I'd just rather march my *** down to good old Reisterstown, MD and pay Rob and Chuck a visit.

You can't beat the DFX 3.0 skin when it come's to functionality but I find LSX Void to be less busy and more aesthetically pleasing

Believe me I know your frustration but switching to RR was the thing that kept me from ripping out my CarPC and going to an after-market head unit. I'm not gonna say there won't be a learning curve with RR but the time invested is well worth it .
P.S danielkh
Love the iMon Ultrabay, I use a touch pad in the car so I really wouldn't need it for the CarPC. But I'm planning on building a small media center PC and the iMon Ultrabay would be a great addition nice find
Thanks

You dont have to give MP3car a penny for CF. CF is owned by a totally seperate company. Just wait, CF 2.0 is on its way out, it looks even better! www.centrafuse.com for all thier info and they have thier own forums seperate of mp3car with alot more info.

All you CF people.....I have a bone to pick. Do ANY of you know that if you don't have a license code, you CAN'T get past version 1.20??
Since everyone is trying out different front ends, I decided to check out this latest version. There is no link to it, and if you try running update from CF itself, it says no new update available.
And what kind of crapola is it for a front end that cost so much dang money not to let you try out the latest and greatest????
So for all you saying that I did my test "intentionally" not upgrading.......well, you can kiss my......you know. Again, research really helps an arguement!

Well, after looking at all of the candidates throughout the evening......CF 1.47, lsx void, and digital FX 3.0......
I have to say DFX is still the strong winner as a backup to SD. Still love the skinning choices, the logo's, still love the weather, addition of CNN is good. I see it now runs a radioshark (don't think the plugin was there for 2.0). Not that I would use it (I have both ver 1 and 2), but at least if I put it in the car, I can no longer say I don't have a radio.
I still cannot see the appeal of CF. I'm sorry....I tried! I really did! Minimal skin choices, and in 90% of them, that logo still takes up most of valuable real estate. Not sure what "shortcomings" those programmers are trying to overcome, but I wish they would get over it. Heck, I would charge them just to have the logo there.
I think I would like the Void once I figure it out more. But for me, it's still RR and DFX.
Think I will go ahead and load it on the carpc just as a backup again. (The truth......I really just want to see how well the iMon will work with RR. )
