StreetDeck Demo Question

I downloaded the StreetDeck demo and I couldn't' get a lot of the features to work. Things like the bluetooth to phone connection wouldn't work, although my computer itself will detect and connect to my phone. Also it couldn't detect a dvd player although I can watch a dvd through media player.

Are these features just disabled? Or did I just miss some setup steps?

Also, I was testing it on my Vista machine. I don't know if that might have caused some problems.

Thanks!

There currently is no bluetooth phone connection in SD. It is said to be "coming soon", and has been for quite some time now. I honestly don't know why they even put the button in there.

According to this bug report dvd playback seems to be a problem with vista. I don't know I use XP. Here's the link http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/stre...9-vista-3.html

Bluetooth requires a special dongle that is only available from mp3car.com directly...but they aren't selling it to the public yet...it's still in beta testing.

DVD errors in Vista have been widely reported, bug reported, and commented on...search the StreetDeck forum for more information (I use XP as well).

The other "disabled" features in SD, such as satellite radio, terrestrial radio, etc., also require hardware to be plugged in to be enabled. Since the software is fully skinnable, if you didn't want the inactive buttons to display, you could easily remove them.

If you're considering purchasing SD right now, I'd wait a few weeks...there is a long-standing customer support issue that (hopefully) will be resolved within the next month. Again, search the forum for more info.

Good luck!
