I checked and I am using the Vinyl sound drivers but I couldnt find noise cancellation anywhere within the software app though. Any ideas?

That's it for now. My 2 cents...

I use Road Runner as my preferred front end and it uses a voice control plugin as well by taking advantage of the MS speech SDK voice recognition. With it I use the andrea USB superbeam microphone. Works great. The key is to have a push to talk button. Something that tells it to "listen" for a specified amount of time after that button is pressed. I believe this is how the Microsoft Sync system works in the new fords. Otherwise there is just too much confusion with road noise and other noises in the car. It also pauses the music for 3 seconds after the button is pressed to allow an even more quieter environment. The pause timer and listening timer are both configurable along with voice responses and a bunch of other goodies. Maybe not the easiest plug and play type of software SD is aiming for but it works really well.

Just thought I would chime in from RR land..

I agree thunderstick. SD and MV4SD also use a trigger switch and then mute the music...otherwise it's too hard of a job. Timeout isn't configurable, though.

Downloaded it...we'll see how it works if I get around to installing it...it offers band specific noise cancellation, which should work pretty well for a car. Thanks for the link.

I'm 1700 miles from my car right now, so I don't have any updates. Anyone have this working perfectly yet (comparable to SD built in voice commands)?

I'll go out on a limb: it will never work as well as SD built in commands. It can't, because it has to listen for sooo much more.

I uninstalled it for now. I rely on the built-in commands too much. Also, given my mic situation (works for built-in commands, but not so well for MV4SD or Naturally Speaking) I was getting pretty poor recognition to the point of it not being worthwhile. I'm still looking at getting a cheap USB sound card that will up the gain on my mic. The mic is good, just needs mowa powa ;-)

Hey Justin, any word on changes/upgrades to make this more mobile friendly? Heading home today, so I should be able to get some testing in this next week. Have you checked with the SD team to see if this will work with SD 2.0?

I'm going to feel really bad if SD 2.0 actually DOES come out this month....

We appreciate the continued feedback from all of you and here is an update of where we are at:

1) We are continuing to make changes to the software based on findings and suggestions that you have been able to provide us with so far. When they get closer, I will inform you of any new builds that are going to be released for beta.

2) As you know, there has been a major change over at StreetDeck. We will be getting in touch with them to address items, such as the one mentioned above, and will update you as soon as we know more.

In the meantime, if you have any other comments or concerns, feel free to post them on the forum or email me directly. Thanks again for your time and effort to this point.

OK, not sure why, but.....
I took the andrea usbd2a adapter out of the mothballs and hooked everything up, downloaded the audiocommander and set noise reduction to "voice enhancements".

I don't say this lightly as it's $100 for a microphone.

onevoice has a 90% capture rate at 70mph with road noise. 100% if you remember to speak normally instead of louder with the noise. About 50% capture with the windows down. I guess I'm not as upset for buying it now. lol

I have the same $100 mic, mine has always worked well. The other day when you said its not worth the cost. I have yet to see a mic thats under $150 that work near or better. with the andrea mic you have to make sure when using the usb adapter, that you are using the software for it. like you found, if the voice enhancement is enabled it works the best. windows down or up, works great. Its great that you gave it another chance, knew it would work out for you.

I am really starting to wonder how many of the issues listed in this forum are computer related and not setup related. My first computer was a Jetway J7F2 2ghz. Supposedly a decent computer. I never got RR to work right (configurations just wouldn't work right), Parts of SD didn't work (recording XM), and just a slew of other issues including the Andrea Superbeam working so poorly I ripped it out and never tried again (I can't go into detail why I got it, but it didn't work for that application at all/that's WITH the andrea software running).

Now that I have switched to a Kino motherboard, I have had ZERO setup issues. RR works beautifully for every application, including GPS weather, temperature readouts, local zip/town, even though I am using the EXACT setup I had on the Jetway. And SD, heck, it uses ZERO configuration changes. As a matter of fact, I have a hard time using Xport because SD KNOWS where the GPS is located and says "why can't I talk to it?!". That's paraphrased (lol). I have to tell it to check another port.

I'm glad I gave it a second chance too.

Justin, I think I have found an issue. I trained the mic and drove into town. 90-100% capture. Just beautiful. Worked like the SD internal voice commands work sitting still. Then I stopped, went into the store and the computer went into hibernate. When I came out and started back up, the training seemed to be lost. Accuracy dropped to about 50%. Got home, retrained, and back up to 90%, however, I had to go through microsoft volume setup (this papaya yada yada yada), then Andrea setup (which set the volume levels a bit higher), and THEN the one voice audio wizard.

Not sure which of those might be the issue, but you might check for training repeatability during restarts.

Separated this into 2 posts so the one voice stuff is by itself.

Here are 2 videos I combined into 1 (you will see repeats in commands) showing commands with the Andrea USBD-2A mic/adapter. Kind of boring after awhile, but it is pretty accurate. The car is running and the AC is blasting. I couldn't drive and record, so this was the best I could do.

Oh yeah.....that's Heather (Streetdeck/acapella) responding.
