Personally I think microphone placement, completing most of the speech tanning sessions and playing with the accuracy/rejection slider are the keys to speech recognition.
I have been using this microphone for over a year with excellent results. It picks up faint whispers and I can also control SD with the windows down. I've tried all kinds of expensive Microphones (excluding array microphones) over the years and this is the best one I’ve had so far.

Might try that one. Easier to conceal!

is there a manual that comes with it showing what type of commands are available?
i'm hesitant to install on my existing system as it's working just fine, and i use all of the other voice commands right now. would love to read a manual prior to installing.

No manual that I can find. Set a restore point?

According to the video, your supposed to be able to ask for info, but so far, I've just gotten artist, song, and genre.
And since your mic works so well, if you are going to load it, would you try just loading the SD file and see if it works?

Edit: On the laptop, it looks like it does need the files s2p loads. It also looks like for this beta release, we only have play song, play artist, play (genre). Hope the digital mod is active for the real release. If so, it's going to be great!
All in all, not too bad for a first release beta.

yeah, just got in from loading the SD beta, and I get nothing having just installed that.
Kinda' strange if you ask me, since they're completely different products (S2play and MobileVoice for SD)?
Can you confirm (again) that you only get those commands and you can no longer use the built in SD voice commands once it's installed?
TIA,
Per

It doesn't need the S2P to run. But it seems to need the install in order to get all the prereqs loaded. Kinda wierd to me too, but on the laptop using a headset mic, it doesn't work without loading the S2P. They are linked in some way. If you load S2P first, then try to install the SD, then it tells you S2P is already loaded and won't let you. If you load the SD first, then you can load the S2P.
Probably some beta oversight on something.
According to the video, it will have all the commands, but at this time, once the one voice is active, the other voice commands are not. If you look in your digital mod section in SD, it shows one voice there with what appears to be a command structure, but it doesn't work right now.
Have you tried loading the S2P yet? Be interesting to see what you find. One thing I did do......if you uninstall the SD, then you do get all your voice commands back. Nothing is messed up by it.

It's really flaky on getting it to work. As I stated before, I found that you need to (or at least I did) load the Say2Play demo as at the beginning of that install, it asks for certain other programs and setups to be complete. Then when you start Say2Play program, it goes through some fine tuning of the mic. So far, these are the only commands I have found.....
Play (artist)
Play (song)
Play (genre)
This is only a beta, so I wouldn't expect the final product to be this limitted. There appears to be a digital mod installed that will more than likely be programmable with custom commands.

Three questions:
1) What microphone are you using?
2) Noise cancellation on the mic?
3) What would you guess the accuracy rate is from your use so far? Better than the built-in recognition in SD?

1. Andrea Superbeam, no usb
2. Noise cancellation and echo cancellation turned on
3. less accurate than built in after training built in "one session".

Thank you kindly, sir.
Now, has it changed the way you interact with SD significantly, or do you still use the touchscreen?
