Speech Input setup problem

I have the what I believe to be the latest version of StreetDeck 1.1.1.6

I have set up the carputer in my office and attempted to get the speech input option working. I have a top quality Lavalier mic as my input. I have entered into tools, general, input options and then trained mic. And then get the mic wizard...I go through the wizard which seems to recongize the volume and plays back "this papaya tastes perfect". Once I hit finish it goes back to the main screen and places the words Speak Now. I am not sure what to say... I try Music, Navigation, Activate, but after that I get no responce from the program... Am I missing something? Please help

I checked out the Link..

FYI - here's a more populated voicereco.xml file (this is where all of the commands / settings are stored) that I use. If you wanted to, you can paste this in place of your existing file and have a lot more commands defined off the bat. You can then also go in and edit this file via the Start menu tool." [br]
Where is the start menu tool - is it in design or on the main?

You find them in "start-all programs-streetdeck-tools-edit voice interface"
If you did a custom install it should be there.

No offence intended, but I suggest you read the SD-manual or do some reading in the forums. This is kind of a basic thing for everyone to find.

I found my problem...I was not aware of the space bar to activate the voice module. I hope as I believe everyone else is that the program a voice command to activate this option. It is pointless. I was hoping to search for a song by simply saying a trigger word and then the command and than the song. Or trigger word then the command and than the address. As my old saying goes...It is never as it appears.

While that method of speech recognition works well in a quiet environment, such as an office, cars have far too much background noise (road noise, music, etc...) to allow voice recognition with a trigger word.

SD can use a gesture to activate speech recog...you should know that if you are testing SD on a computer without a touchscreen, you are not using it entirely as intended. The interface was largely build around a touchscreen and gesture input. Using it with a keyboard is much more difficult...I struggled with it for quite some time until I purchased a touchscreen.
