Backup camera question

Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone hooked up their backup camera to run in streetdeck instead of running it directly to the monitor. I have a boyo backup license camera, it has both av output and svideo output and I dont know how to get streetdeck to detect either one. It probably has more to do with the computer detecting the camera.

In case you are wondering, I did try connecting it directly to my monitor and powering it through my reverse lights, but apparently my monitor is defective has a problem switching automatically when the camera is detected. I would send it in to zenarc but i have the g35 kit and i dont want to take my whole dash apart again. So, i have to settle for the camera working in streetdeck.

Prob alot more than you needed to know. If anyone knows how to get the computer to detect svideo input, help me out! Thanks

It's probably not a problem with the monitor. If the computer is on, it may not autoswitch if something else is detected. You can check this by turning off the computer (or disconnect the video) and then turn on the camera.

Not sure what model your monitor is, but on mine, if you go into menu, there is a selection for "check av1 first". Maybe try that?

Thanks for the help guys. No, my computer doesn't detect the camera when i plug it into the svideo on my computer. It does make the noise that windows usually makes when it detects new hardware either. Im wondering if there a way to turn on the s video plug.

And answer to the second question is yes, Ive tried Check AV first. the problem is that the monitor always thinks something is there ever when theres isn't. For example, theres nothing plugged into av1 right now, but if i turn that function on, it will switch from pc mode to av mode even though nothing is plugged in there. so when i hook up the backup camera to av1, yes it does switch from pc to av1 but it wont switch back to pc if i unplug the camera. i talked to a tech about this from the xenarc site and he couldnt figure it out either. so he asked me to send the whole screen to them. I would have had to take my dash apart again. It too hot in Vegas to right now to mess around in the garage.
