XM recording not working

Well I thought my media paths were messed up. That's fixed now (thanks for the updated SDConfig program).

I still get the error - here is the excerpt from the log (full log attached - SD crashed while trying to close; not certain if it's related to this issue though):

I should mention that there is a SAT radio buffer file created. It seems it just cannot rename it? Or move it into _Indexed???

Any ideas what could cause this?

Media paths issues?

Security issue (everyone is admin)?

Sound card issue?

The error code returned is for an unexpected error. I have no idea what that could mean.

The reason it crashes is because of a bug that happens if there is an unexpected error with the writer which will be fixed.

The sat buffer is just a wav file. The error is occuring when it trys to encode it after the song has finished.

Should I try updating Windows Media Player? Not sure what libraries are being used for the encoding? This was working at some point...

The windows media format SDK is the only thing used for recording.

Ok, i downloaded the 70 MB windows media format v9.5 SDK and will try to install that and see if it helps...

EDIT: THAT WORKS!!! I must not have installed Windows Media Player 9 correctly? Or I was missing a runtime file?

Thanks for the tip, God_of_CPU.
