Wow G of C!...you weren't kidding when you said that it was really close to shipping. Any chance that you have an ETA on when the software will become movable from one PC to another? I'd really like to buy it now and run it on my HP tc4200 tablet PC until I get the money and time to install a dedicated PC in the car.
BTW, I don't know if you've tried running StreetDeck on a tablet PC but it is a true joy to use. I also think that if the new UMPC form factor takes off, your software will become extremely popular. The only real disadvantage to running it on a tablet PC is having to use the pen, which of course isn't very handy while driving. The UMPC form factor uses a regular touchscreen.
Congratulations on your shipment!

What's the upgrade policy will be for StreetDesk? It's a sweet piece of software for $200 provided you have to pay for it once, but paying $200 each year is a different deal. What do you say?

For people who recently bought the SD bundle, is there a charge to get the 2006 updated maps or would it go for free? Just curious.

Thats a pretty sweet deal considering all the built in features your getting. May consider this soon.
Note to god_of_cpu: The link at the bottom of the Streetdeck product page in the store seems to be linked wrong. Its the one that says "For more information, please visit this products webpage." It took me to the World Wide Web Consortium website. Just thought I would give a heads up.

There will be a charge to upgrade. I don't know what it is. It won't be available until we ship the regular DVD.

There is currently no place to buy this hardware as it is not made yet. MP3Car is designing and manufacturing the hardware for StreetDeck using the parrot bluetooth chip. It should be available before the years end. You can see phone compatibility on this page: http://www.parrot.biz/guide_chm/CK3X00/index.html

I just bought the thing. Love it.
However, I'd urgenty request that you build the ability to transfer the program. As often as we change hardware for our car Pc's around here, I worry that will really become an issue.
I'm already toying with an MB upgrade to support dual display...
My $.02 worth.

You can change your motherboard, you just have to keep the harddrive you registered for in the system. License transfer will be one of the first things to happen after we start shipping.

Congrats, I ordered mine the night it released. In training right now in New England.
Can't wait to get home and start playing with the new Carputer I am going to install with some friends for fun, on my recently purchased 2005 Escape. I will be posting the project then for complete worklog. I intend to do the whole carputer install in one full day with my crew and take lots of good pictures for everyone to follow. Should be up the weekend of July 8th (Sunday). MacMini based. Fun stuff.

So this is a one time fee? just making sure. if you say yes then consider another copy sold. And it will be able to upgrade as new versions are released?
