Question Questions on StreetDeck prior buying

god_of_cpu,

A few questions prior buying StreetDeck.

#1 - DVD & Videos play in headrest LCD displays for backsit
It's said in the StreetDeck Manual : "Note that videos can only play while not in motion ; if the vehicle begins moving, any playing video automatically minimizes." Is that safety feature active for backsit headrest LCD displays while in motion?

#2 - Dual display?
Is there a way for StreetDeck to play DVD or videos on backsit headrest LCD Displays while using Navigation features in front LCD Display for driver?

#3 - Parrot USB adapter
Is that possible to have Parrot USB adapter names compatible with StreetDeck and that can be purchase in Canada?

#4 - Road speed values
Is there a way to set road speed value in Kilometers/hour in StreetDeck?

#5 - Speech features in other languages
Is that possible to switch StreetDeck speech features in French (Quebec). If not, is there a way of doing it my myself?

Thanks.

1. Dual screen functionality is not fully implemented, but will be a free update at some point in the future, it will not be locked.

2. When dual display is implmented this will be possible, but not at this time.

3. The streetdeck hardware enabler will be available at the mp3car for purchase whenever it it finished.

4. Yes you can use km.

5. StreetDeck is currently only available in english, you can not change the language yourself.

Dual screen functionality is not fully implemented?

I download your trial and have tested it. I have not been able to get the dual monitor setup. When I check the box for dual monitor support, the display says that I have to have my touch screen setup as the secondary monitor?? Is this a support feture yet? I want to run everything up front (Touch Screen VGA) to run normal and run all video functions in my rear monitor (Composite).

Thanks, Darin

It works if you set it up right, but its hard to do right now. Its something that we use in our show cars, but probably isn't quite there for everyday use. It should become much more robust and easier to use within the next few months though.

Hmm, I got at least one person interested...

Well, all you have to do is edit your font, do the offsets correctly.
What I did was... I used a translit for now.

All my mp3 tags that were in another language, were converted into English translit (asci).
Then I just edited the fonts.
Instead of each English letter I've put a letter in another language that match the original "translition".
Now, it wasn't that hard, you just have to know how to use photoshop.

hope you got an idea... Of course that's a temporary solution...

Now that you have a new version out. I tried your demo with the update and still get the message about setting my touchscreen up as my second monitor. So I guess Dual screen functionality is not fully implemented, Still??

I have to see this function working before I buy, or my kids will not be happy in the backseat.

I love the internet radio and would love to buy this software. Any updates on the dual monitor support?

Thanks, Darin

Multimonitor support is still limited. The vw stuff used multiple computers. You can use the GPS broadcasting option in navigation settings to share the GPS data and allow the host to send picture and video selections to the clients.

For me this is a basic funtion for an in car entertainment system. Any word on when you will but focus on full multi monitor support? It is a shame that this is the only function keeping me from purchasing your system. Thanks

So for the vw setup using multilple computers, you can control the content that is played on the other systems from the main system?
