DVD screen size

Hi,

For some reason when I try to play a DVD on SD it does not show a full screen, I will say it use 1/2 to 2/3 of the screen (I have a 8" wide screen), I don’t have this problem when I use Windows Media Player.

Please help

Can it be the codec that I'm using?, but why will it work just fine with Media Player?

Is your display set to widescreen in display settings?

Yes, I have it setup for widescreen, actually when I play a video file like a divx it does use a full screen, only video from DVD show a much smaller size.

I get the same problem with my 7" xenarc while in fullscreen 4x3. When set to widescreen 16x9 the picture is only using the center area with the sides filled in with negative space, as if the picture "zoomed" out.

I have to look into the issue, by default it should always be scaled and to the proper aspect ratio of the source.

I changed to 4:3, and seems to work fine now....I do have a 16x9 so not sure why works that way.

I have this same issue and changing the ratio does not have any effect.

Thanks.
