PodCasts (Video Blog)

Another feature we showed at IDF was PodCasts. These are "live" podcasts meaning that you need an active internet connection to play them in StreetDeck as opposed to the typical podcast usage model where you subscribe to podcasts and have to download them to a device and bring that device with you to take advantage of them. The typical usage model is already supported through the standard StreetDeck Music interface.

To use this DigitalMod, you must have StreetDeck installed, update to version 1.0.5.6 Beta, and download and installed the podcasts DigitalMod from http://www.streetdeck.com/update/Podcasts.sdz

Chuck, great Mod, I was waiting for something like this:

1. Where does it get the directory from?
2. Is there any way to add feeds that are not listed?, if not....will it be simple to modify this mod?
3. It would be nice if you can filter favorites.

Thanks

It gets them from podcasts.com

All Scripted DigitalMods are open source. It just downloads an RSS feed from podcast.com and parses it. It should be very trivial to modify the source of data.

I think you meant to say podcast.com, not podcasts.com. Whatever the source, this is a great new feature! Today I started listening to a podcast while I was connected to my network at work. I turned on the KR1/EVDO and left work. There was not even the slightest gap as my Infill made the transition from my wifi network at work, to the wifi connection to the KR1. Very cool!

Well, I don't know much about codes and scripts, but after a few tries, I was able to get my own podcast feeds from the menu....now how can I make 1 page (feed) with the latest episodes of my favorites podcasts?, something like podcast.com, where by category the only show the newest of each.

Thanks
