Cache local Satellite Imagery for Maps...

I've noticed that my downloaded satellite imagery for HYBRID map mode is stored on the hard drive so if I drive to common areas of the city, it doesn't need to re-download. Awesome, and good thinking. What is the cap on that? Does it do it until it fills the HD or is there a space limit? If not, shouldn't there be and perhps programmable?

I would also recommend that the two common zoom levels (when using dynamic zoom) should auto-download a radious that is programmable from within the interface. That way, from your garage with your high-speed connection, the entire 50-mile radious at the two typical zoom levels can be downloaded in a matter of a minute or two, rather than needing to do it while driving. Plus, if you had a route planned (say a trip to Florida), it could pre-load the satellite images.

Just random thoughts.

It would be great if it would cache based on your bookmarked locations and/or the path you've already traveled.
I'm sure the majority of people are like myself where the only internet connection is available on the driveway. I'd have no problem letting it cache for 5 minutes after I've driven home from work/school/the girlfriend's in order for it to be available the next time I go.

my random thoughts

You can precache them in your garage by just clicking the gps/browse button and just scroll around your hometown or the route you plan to take to pre-cache the images. not perfect but at least you will get the data while you have your connection at home.
