Welcome Subforum
Is is possible to have a Welcome subforum somewhere, like maybe in the newbie section. Because of lately there have been a tremendous amount of "Hi I'm new here", "Hello from ...", "newbie saying hi", etc, threads.
It's starting to clutter up the newbie forum with these post and I think it gets harder for newbies to get their question answered with all the "Hi" thread mixed in. I don't read much thread in the newbie section anymore because it gets kinda annoying.
Just wanted to know what you guys think?
Is this a possibility?

I'm pretty much neutral on this idea. It's one of those things that doesn't matter to me.
There are also some people who register, post an innocuous-looking "Hi! I'm new here" post in order to get into the system, then come back several days later and drop spam all over the place...

I don't think they are whoring it up, I think they are being cordial and welcoming people to the site.

For my $0.02 worth, I agree with edrex. I think a dedicated thread (sticky) in the Newbie forum with a title similar to the following might work:
"New to MP3Car Forums ? Say Hi Here...."
Mind you, if the mods don't think the number of "Hi There" threads is a problem, then it's probably not a problem.
Cheers,
Long.1

Starting to sound like AA
Hi, my name is E and I have a problem. I am addicted to computers and must have a computer wherever I go. Therefore I want to put a PC in my car.
Oh and also when I have enough money to own a boat, I'd like to put one in there too.
My addiction is mainly for the interweb so I will need to have online access all the time.
Please help me.
Oh BTW I still have not learned to feed myself so therefore I will need to be spoonfed, and I never lose anything, just never wanted it anymore, so I am abosolutely useless at searching.
Also I don't own a camera so I can't post any pictures, but can someone tell me where the best place to put a screen in my dash is.
What? I have no idea what the make of car I drive is.
E.

This is the only forum I use where newbies get flamed just for being new and starting out with simple questions (that have been answered hundreds of times.) I try to be nice to everyone until they do something that proves they are an idiot who deserves to be flamed. People respond to helpful coercion better than judgemental shaming. No one is forced to read posts from the newbie section.

Realistically, I think it's probably a bit of both.

I like the idea of a welcome subforum.
