Ok - the time has been reset on the server.
Unfortunately, I don't know what to do about the current threads not showing up in the forum.
I've tested posting to a thread and my post shows up at the bottom of the thread now rather than the top, so that's all good.
I'm not running into other issues like the time limits others have run into.
Let me know if you all notice anything else going on.

The best thing to do is go back to 8-1-2006 in those certain threads and make a new post to them in order to bring them to the front.

well, those individuals will need to do it, because I have no way of knowing which threads were created...and we're not going to bring back all threads from that date...

Are you telling me that I caused this?
I was editing a post when it crashed, thought I'd done it!

yea, wow, things have been really screwy today with this... there are a whole bunch of new posts from 2001 bumped up to the top of threads . my control panel was screwy for a while too, I was seeing over 1,800 newly subscribed threads at one point... seems fine now though other than the time being off a few hours... don't think there is any way to correct all the missplaced posts...

Is anyone else having problems? I am wondering if we need to restore from backup.

seems to have cleared up, I think there was a time issue again with the server reseting to 01... there are a few posts that went to the top of threads again... had to be a server time issue I think...

it happens when the host looses power and the servers all go down. they then reset the clocks...it's incredibly strange...but it's what happens to cause this.

What would the process be to get a post that was incorrectly time-tagged to be moved to the end of the thread? Would the mods need to delete it?

Someone with direct access to the database could go in through the back door and manually change the dates on those posts, but that's a lot of hard work and could have other unforeseen effects.
