I added this f**kwit to my ignore list but his spam posts are still making threads appear in the view new post page. Anyone know if it is possible to get his posts to not affect the new posts list?

Can we kick him and then go round and give him a good kicking?

ahhh maybe the admin mods need to get on this one....

one of the other forums I visit recently installed a new vBulletin update/patch - which added a new user rego option where u need to type back in a 6 number code that is presented to you on screen in a GIF file...

why you ask?

to stop bots, that auto-register, then attempt to spam forum sections starting from forum ID 1 onwards...

so my guess is mp3car.com has been hit by one of these bots...

Darn it our subscription to vBulletin expired last month, no more free updates. Is the patch you are refering to some 3rd party patch? I didn't see anything on vBulletion's site about it.

Whilst this might sound slightly dodgy to some folks, Im trying to track down some of these bot's for attacking phpBB so that I can figure out exactly which bits of the forum engine they target and fix it so they cant.
I stand by my post count (minimal

) and the things that Ive said in the past regards being a stand up fellow and not screwing people over, so dont be thinging Im up for some DoS style attack anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can get some of these from? Ive tried the usual astalavista and found some new hacks that Ive fixed against, but I guess a bot attack is inevitable after a while with a large forum so Id like to be ready.

Please PM me if you know where I should be looking. (Im thinking IRC script kiddies channels)
