I'm going to add an OBD-II forum this afternoon, it's something I've wanted for a while and it will raise awareness.
Does anyone know of any short description of what OBD-II is? Something that would explain that it’s in cars 1997 and newer, and it supports these parameters, etc. I want to have a sickly thread in there explaining what OBD-II is so people who aren't familiar with it can get in the game. Or maybe someone here would like to write something up?
Thanks.

Wow thanks Zip-Lock! The only reason I built a CarPC is because I thought it was ridiculous to have to have a PC sitting on my passenger seat in order to use a decent OBD software interface. Now I have the entire CarPC finished EXCEPT for the OBD2 software LOL! The AutoTap is a bit pricey but check out the screen shots!!!

Well...I have to respond to this one. It looks like it worked...didn't it? Granted, it was a coincidence that Zip-Lock already had the thought lingering in his mind, but he did take my suggestion (along with everyone's positive responses) into consideration. Now we have a forum. Soon to be the best one on the web. I have looked pretty hard and there are no great resources out there. The best you find is the manufacturers of the equipment, but info about apps other then those bundled with the equipment are impossible to find.
Thanks a lot Zip-Lock. It looks like that forum is off to a good start already. I love the ODB-II story!

hey zip, can we not call this an obd2 fourm?
Mainly i ask as i dont have an obd2 car, and this is one of the main things that i want my carputer to do. OBD2 is not the be all and end all of this realm, and i'd like to raise the awareness of other ways to go about this one as well....
