Exclamation Please clarify "conflicts" forums list/rules

Zip-Lock et all,
I understand that this site has been created as a support for the mp3car store website which is the commercial venture.
I think everybody appreciate your efforts on maintaining this website.
Can I ask you to post a sticky message with the rules on those forums where you have "conflict" of interest with our discussions when we exchanging links and such, so everybody knows why their threads get banned.
By browsing your web store I see that the following forums would be the first candidates:

- LCD Display
- Power supplies
- GPS

Any other "conflicts" I've missed ?

That is where your understanding is flawed. Didn't the store come after the site, and even then as a convenience for the community stocking the basics?

Thats what you would think, but that's not how it is...

quote from zip-lock:

"Remember that this is a private site created to support the company mp3car.com

Please understand that supporting competitors isn't in Mp3Car's best interest. If someone wants to go somewhere else and buy stuff that's their business, but we can't have people then coming on here and posting links and reviewing various other companies. Vendor specific questions should be discussed directly with the vendor.

We can't allow discussions like this to continue because it is a conflict of interest. Sorry."

The current conversation is over the new dynamix screen. I just have just purchased one, based on the opinions of people that have actually recived them, and other ebay user's feedbacks, when i get it (4 days or so) I'll post some reviews with pics....if that will be allowed, if not i'll make a site and we'll see how they really stack up again lilli's and the like.

yes, the forums have been around since the late 90's and the store is a recent addition.

This site has been here for a long time and has a history. Originally we sold car mp3 players, hence the name mp3car. The forums where added later. We had a hard drive crash in 1999 which lost a lot of data with regard to that time in our past. In 1999 we stopped selling mp3 players, but the forums remained. The forums kept "buzzing" even when the rest of the site was outdated. Over time most posts on the forums were about in-vehicle computing rather then car mp3 players. So over time we dissolved the forums about mp3 players and created new ones for the specific in-vehicle computing topics. The store came back when we felt there was enough of a niche to make it worthwhile and that's where we are today.

I just don't understand why all the Dynamix threads are getting closed yet I see TONS of ebay links.. No one bothered to lock the Starvision thread and Dynamix sells the same monitor.

Sorry I just don't understand the seemingly personal problem with Dynamix.

Thats the main gripe.. why did this all of a sudden appear? I understand vendors in the past have been warned and banned for coming in selling products... but simple feedback on products out there have never been restricted. Its not possible for mp3car.com to stock every part that's out there and make it available for sale. Its also possible for other places to sell similar/superior parts for similar/less amounts of $$$. No one can change that fact so its pointless to fight this from happening. Competition is unavoidable. This forum thrives on open communications between peers. Restricting vendors is understandable and acceptable, but restricting free discussion of products makes no sense at all and will be a never ending battle if it is attempted.

I've got a dynamix on the way, ~$215 shipped from ebay, so i'll post some pics and reviews so that we can get some legit opinions on it. Should be here on thursday or friday ...hopefully sooner.
