Exclamation Thread deletions in Classifieds Pt. II

Yes, I agree that the rules should be read, but its not fair to penalize the buyers. Can there at least be someway to inform both buyer and seller that the thread has been deleted?

At least the seller knows their thread has been deleted and they can fix it according to the rules. And the buyer can at least PM the seller in order to reserve his spot for an item.

Considering all the programming gurus on this board I dont think it would be to hard to program an AUTO-PM system to buyers/sellers when thread has been deleted.

I understand you(Frodo) probably dont want to hear anymore about this topic, but Im just trying to make this board better for everyone. I hope you consider my alternate proposal.

Thanks man

I can see the problem with deleting... say someone scams you and you have no way to prove were you made the agreement because the thread has been deleted. But that's an extreme scenario.

LOL... He can give me a custom title as long as it isnt bad
Im not teasing just trying to help everyone out. I agree sellers are stupid if they dont read the rules. But buyers like me get A$$ed out when they reserve a spot inline for a possible good buy. Then when we go back to see why they havent heard from the seller in a week or so they come to find the thread has been deleted. If by chance the buyers fixes the thread and posts it up according to the rules. I will most probably loose my spot for the buy.

Let me preface by saying that I understand your point of view.
HOWEVER...
The Classified forum is a courtesy for people to post wants and whate they have for sale within certain guidelines. The moderators of these forums are people like us: They have families, jobs, carputers to muck about with and so on. I'm certain that none of them have teh time to peruse every classified posting and send a warning to the poster that the posting isn't followig the rules.
For the most part, these forums are pretty much self-regulated. Almost daily there's a Classified posting without a price or with some other issue that Joe Member adds to, alerting the poster to his error. It works, for the most part.
If you want to get in on a buy from a poster, send them a private message or an email. If you do a private message, then you can send a copy for yourself, so you've got a record of the request, as well as the date.time it was sent.
I'm certain that most of the people who offer up stuff for sale here do it ona "first-come first-served" basis, but that doesn't mean that they're obligated to. They can sell to someone else because they like them more or for whatever reason. So the logic of keeping the thread to know the order of postings is really irrelevant to me, even less so if Seller gives the offer to Buyer because they both drive Camaros or whatever, rather than to the first respondant.

The Classifieds forum is simply a courtesy, At the rate people have been griping lately, It might not last much longer. Anyone 'getting in line' for an item should contact the seller by PM or email, not in the thread.
