Subscribed Thread notification on SMS or Text Message

I wonder if there is a way to get my new subscribed thread/ private message notifications sent to my cell phone instead of my email. I have email addresses for both but your forum doesn't ask where I'd like my notifications sent. It just assumes I want it going to my email. Why not both.

I wish you had a setup like EBay where notifications could also be sent to a separate mobile email account like GizmoQ@RadioLink.Net. That way if I'm not at home or in the car, I can still get notified of a change to my subscribed threads. I understand that some cellphone providers use the phone number as the email username and that info would have to be guarded, but those of us with email forwarding services are covered. I'm not familiar with SMS but I think it works the same as text messaging.

You could probably just add another block to the "messaging and notification" page with an option for one, both, or the other.

Let me know if you think I'm way off base but I've found this style notification lets me have a life away from the computer, yet keep up with whats going on.

Now if I could only figure out how to get notified of changes in my RSS feeds the same way..............

well if ud rather have them on sms than email u could just change the email to the email for your mobile device... or im sure you could setup your email client to forward certain messages to another email (your mobile device)
