Monthly Tutorials
So, i've been thinking lately.. the same questions get asked a lot on this board, and they don't always get answered completely.
What about setting up monthly tutorials? Like, get a bunch of the members who really know what they're doing to take pictures of their latest projects, and post their notebooks and drawings and pictures up online. I know i keep decent notebooks, all i'd have to do is take pictures.
I think i'm going to do a tutorial for plastic dashboard modding, all different routes, from bondo+glass, to solvent adhesives to thermoforming.
Anyone else down?

Great idea! If I can think of anything I know enough about to do a writeup on then I would gladly contribute.

Whatever notebook you use, i'm sure it'd be helpful..
I keep notebooks as a habit, they've come in handy on more than one occasion... but yeah, i'm in the process of making one. I'm thinking they should all be edited for accuracy by a couple people that really know what they're talking about, and they should all be formatted the same way so people can follow them step by step...

I was actually thinking the same thing... was hoping he would offer to do it for me, cause I'd rather be flaming my own threads.

I was bloody waiting for that!
Actually it should be 'how to postwhore 1000 posts in 1 week' - that is my record!
I was in fact going to offer some tutorials on:
*servo contol systems and mechanisms
*upgrading your Xenarc backlight (in collaboration with JCdillins 'upgrading your lilliput backlight')
*'British humour for our American cousins'
and a few others but now i won't bother

There are a set soon to appear on www.dashboardmonkey.co.uk with the recently mentioned comprehensive FAQ.
The first tutorial should be up towards the end of the month
If anyone would like to contribute (there are a number of you already so thank you) then please email tutorials@dashboardmonkey.co.uk with any details, or simply register on www.dashboardmonkey.co.uk and PM sunnymonkey or itrends
