hey man. I think the problem is in the ppc settings of the gps.
set it not to manage the gps automatically, and tell tomtom to use com1 (since you have com6 mapped to com1)
I've not used a bt gps with this setup, but it should work.

Thanks for your answer Sama!
But it didn't works... In fact, even if I've uncheck the box you told me, i still have the same error that appears when I go in the Bluetooth connection's setting... I can't checks the boxes I have to check, cause they are uncheckable... I've try it anyway with TomTom (with ''Serial Cable on COM1) but as I was expecting, it didn't works neither.
I really don't know what's going wrong with it... ?! I've done a Soft Reset, don't works neither............
How come the hardware isn't recognize by the emulator???

I remember something about serial 0 being serial 1 on the pcc.
there's another load of user experience posts in the link in my sig, over on digita-car
sorry I'm not being so helpful, but it was a long time ago that I wrote this stuff and my memory has suffered too much abuse since!

Disable the save-state prompt
Is there a way to disable the 'save state' question so that when I close the emulator it just closes without complaining?
Thanks

Thanks, will have a look.
I have just tried this and it wont pick up my GPS receiver. I have tried 2 receivers, one bluetooth and one USB, i think both are SiRF rather than NMEA, would that be the problem?
Is there a way i can check that the ports have mapped correctly (ie: the com port is actually accessible from the emulator?
Thanks

Has anyone embedded this in RR in Windows XP yet? I've always used TomTom's and had pocket pc's.. I actually thought of this idea a long time ago, but never knew someone else did too and actually put it into action.. Great work.. If I could get it to embed into RR that would be perfect..

I am still having problems with the port mapping, I am mapping /u1 to com8 (the usb serial port for my GPS mouse) and neither tomtom or 'gpsinfo' which comes with my gps receiver are receiving anything from it
if i use "/u0 com8" it comes up with an error saying 'Access Denied'.
if i use "/u1 com8" it goes through but nothing works...
Any suggestions?

Don't use a com port over 9, it causes nothing but problems.

I have tried to follow the instructions three times now without success. The problem is you say that I should find file this and file that and I don't I have searched my PDA several times for currentmap.dat and I can not find it at all and I also seam unable to get the emulator to run too. Back to the drawing board for the SatNav unless you can tell me where I'm going wrong

I got several problems after installing TT6 via emulator v2.0
I followed the procedure as mentioned above.
problem 1:
When installing TT6 and setting all the settings (like time format and voice) TT is freezing for a minute!
problem 2:
I have a Adapt AD-300 ( http://www.adapt-mobile.com/download...il.php?p_id=17)
Via Bluetooth. I connect with Vista and get:
COM3: outbound (BT GPS 'SPP Slave')
COM18: inbound (BT GPS)
So vista sees my gps. What exactly do I have to set in de emulator (which serial port to which com; com3 or com18).
In TomTom which type gps should I choose. And connect via which port (com3, com18 or serial port com1)
I also tried Sygic ( http://www.carputerforum.nl/carpc/showthread.php?t=3761). that is without Emulator.
Even there I had troubles connecting my GPS.

I had a play with this tomtom running on PC a few years back but its pretty much pointless now.
1) TomTom is outdated
2) Its slow
3) Its patchy.
4) Plenty of GPS for PC now, Sygic Drive, Igo8, Garmin...
