Is mitchjs' the only place to buy his cable?
Or does someone have one they need to sell?
Just bought the Visteon model from crosslakes' ebay for $60USD (Thanks blk) and now need the cable.
I need it sent to Aus...Does Mitchjs ship to Aus?

Hey guys,
I was looking at buying one of the Visteon radios on ebay, and found this site selling them today only for $60+$5 shipping. I've never bought from them, so no idea how reliable they are:

So who actually does the soldering, Geddy Lee?
I tried that link, finally taking the time to read the thread, and take the plunge, and I don't think it's right.
Looking at his original link (or something closer):

It appears he is out of them or...it actually looks more like they are discontinued (for someone who didn't know better, going to his site).
Any word? It's Christmas-time, and I'm anxious.

As this is an open forum, I would have assumed that when he read that post he would be able to reply to it if he had an answer. If I ask in a general sense, I'm also asking for other people's replies - hence a greater chance of information being supplied faster. If I had only asked Mitch, then other users (who may have helpful information for me) may not intercede.

weird looks like the link is down or maybe Mitch has sold all of his stock! With the demand for these cables I would for see him making another batch. Perhaps this does merit a PM.
In any event my tuner/cable/skin is almost ready for production use in the car

Still says, "Product not found!" on that page, I hope I'm not too late.

(I corrected the link above to to go to the .net site)
Hmmm confirmed... The link is correct, however on his site, clicking any of the links to the cable, reports a product not found.
Possibly a problem with the page or something..... I have PM"d Mitch, in case that it is an error.

I finally got around to installing the tuner on my embedded OS setup, took about 4 hours of software config since I updated RR and my skin but everything is working great with my carPC. Just noticed some behavior that I didn't while testing on the desktop. I never turned my desktop off at all while testing, (had a seperate 12v for the tuner) and I noticed it "clicks" on and "clicks" off when you launch or close the HD radio menu in RR or mitchs app. Now I do hard-offs with my carPC and cold boots every time. I've noticed when my hardware is initializing I can hear the tuner click on and off twice during the boot process. Not sure if its supposed to or not, I figured its just the OS probing the COM port and doing a test of the hardware. Just curious if someone could share their cold boot behavior with me. Thanks again for the clean interface mitchj, its working great so far!

yes.. power to the HD Radio is controlled by DTR (modem line)
the OS is touching it while booting... maybe looking for a modem

well the metra blade antenna actually did worse in my install than my factory antenna. Can anyone else recommend an antenna or perhaps point out some things that cause interference with the fm signal?
