sonicxtacy02, tell me more about you're car?
are we talking about the 1995 honda?
thats a mast antenna right? (not glass)
is that a power antenna in the trunk?
that car is OLD, i would replace the antenna, the whole thing, then
DO NOT EXTEND the antenna wire, move the the tuner!
ONLY USE OEM antenna, dont use anything from metra
i have a 2002 mitsu, and i replaced my antenna, and its was like night and day
over time the antenna ground, and the mast system becomes worn, and doesnt make good connections...
also... some amplifers produce RFI which kills recpetion
(BLADE is a good example)
oh a good test of an antenna.... is AM with engine running... is it clean and free of noise...

Mitch,
Yes I know theres no HD in Australia .. so I'm only using it for AM/FM/RDS.
Our stations are FM 100.3,101.1,101.9,102.7,105.1 [88-108Mhz I believe]
and AM 621, 693, 774, 855, 927, 1026, 1116 Khz. Is it possible to make a 9kHz tuning option for AM in Aus/other countries?
Do you ship your cables to Aus? Is there a USB version planned? - this would fix the DTR signal going high/low during POST, and turning the radio on.

How are you guys bench testing your HD radio to configure for the carPC?
I have a 15amp 13.8V power source that I use to bench test my carPC. Can I just hook it up to that?

That should be fine, when the car is running it puts out 14.4 volts so the tuner has to have some built in regulator.
Im still trying to figure out how to have roadrunner save a list with this tuner, and also to return to HD menu and save the station it was on. Right now any time I leave the HD menu and come back it is at 87.5 and I have to retune it.

i dont know how to make it do 9khz

I am not sure how to fix it, but am pretty sure it is in RR"s code, and nothing to do with the plugin, DLL ect.
RR needs to keep track if the radio is playing or not, and know that when going to the screen.
It is especially annoying when I hear a song on the radio, and switch to the skin to see the title and such, and it tunes to another station!

Yes its for my 95 accord and unfortunately it is in the glass This particular year of the car never came with an external mast. My tuner has been in two different locations.. the trunk.. and behind the monitor up front in my car. The difference is barely noticable. Is there anything i can place my tuner in that would reduce the amount of RFI affecting it? I did notice that when i had it in the trunk next to a boss amp i have the reception sucked unless i put my rear seats down. In its current location behind the monitor it works better but its certainly nowhere near as strong as the stock radio in my van is.

sonicxtacy02, i would conside getting a TRUNK mounted Power Antenna installed
I bet you could get a honda one...
ah i do remember accords with the glass antenna, is it passive or is there an amplifer?
i know they had trunk mounted antennas around that year
might only be for sedans...but check anyway...
I did a quick check in alldata, shows a power antenna... for 1995 coupe
and i bet the mount is there, just need the hole in the body

as for rfi, only way would be to dump the amp
now rfi really shows up on AM as high pitched noise
class D amps could have this, with their hight freq switched power supply

Anyone else having a problem with config overwriting your hd radio settings everytime you save an config change?
I manually edit the rr.ini, but config overwrites as there is no option for HD radio in the config utility yet.....
Only when I Make a change and save though Config..............
*edit- nevermind, I was using an older version of config. Solved*

I agree and believe this is in the RR code also. I know my HQCT had a ini file in the hqct directory in RR to save presets. I have great functionality with this tuner and RR so far, can tune really good signal and sounds great with no noise (yes i did your ground mod mitch )
Anyway I do think RR just needs some more coding to make this happen. It also seems that RR will lose communication with the tuner if I go 3 or more menus deep away from my HD skin. Only fix is to go to mp3 or vid, then back to HD which sets me back at 87.5.
I know the software will catch up soon This is the newest tuner available to RR so I did not expect it to be perfected just yet. I am going to be releasing my new skin very soon with the note that HD is still in beta. Hopefully we can get some more heads working on this to get it solved.
