I also ran across this: http://hd-radio.home.comcast.net/~hd-radio/. Has anybody used this software? It appears that the cable+SW+shipping is competitively priced with rush2112.net's package, but it looks like it has more functionality (i.e. automatically records mp3s, can be internet controlled, etc.). Plus, they offer a package that includes their $40 "everything" package AND a Visteon HD Zoom for a total of $75 + $12 shipping.
I bought a Visteon off of ebay before Xmas and temporarily stuffed the whole thing into the glovebox of my mini-van just to try it out while I'm still developing my TruckPC. It is awesome! I might just buy another one so I don't have to take this one out of the mini-van when I need one for my truck.
Thanks..
Mark
I ordered my cable 3 days ago from Mitch as well. Besides I don't like the postings from the Mechanic that owns that site that you ref to. Now I'm even happier that I ordered from Mitch since the other cable is not compatible with RR.
Mitch: The HD Radio app from your site once I lauch it shows the "About HDRadio" window and this does not dissapear until I click on it. Will this interfere with RR once I have everything connected? OR does RR has its own HDRadio plugin that does not require this app?
Thanks.

It was most likely started here since it's native to roadrunner, as the description on his website says...
NATIVE Road Runner Support -
Mitch, I was going to order the cable, but I'm curious to know what the $1.44 is for if the shipping is free?
EDIT: NM. Must be sales tax. :P

where do I begin...
Downloaded Blue ZX3 config file RR is all upto date...(all under c:\program files...)
when I click on runme1st.cmd I get and error:
"The app failed to initialize proerly (0xc0000135) click OK to terminate"
I'm lost and have the car running for about 45min now trying to get this thing to work!
----EDIT----
Does it matter that I'm using Tiny XP in the car?....The reason I ask, I tried and it worked with another PC using XP Pro???

Since this seems to be the most active Visteon thread overall... I wanted to ask for some help.
I installed my radio this morning... working fairly well so far. However... my reception is not consistent at ALL. I live in the Dallas metroplex so I wasn't too worried about signal strength (pretty sure I can eliminate that variable).
Here are some observations:
I can add noise to the signal by moving my antenna cable around. Some spots seem to get better reception. Does having my PC installed in my dash add to much interference?
Also, I noticed I could add noise by "shaking" the power cables, which by the way are LONG. I'm thinking about just cutting them down a ton because it almost seems to be acting as an antenna.
Anyways, did anyone have any interference problems, and if so what suggestions would you have to solving them. I grounded the RCA, but that's the only mod so far. I have also tried placing the tuner itself far from the front of the car. Anddd.... it will tune to HD channels, but just as other stations the signal won't remain strong for very long and it will drop frequently.
Some info about my install:
Constant 12v to distribution block connected directly to battery. Switched 12v from PC PSU 12v rail. Ground to ground distribution block..
Using control faceplate, cable is on the way
I'm driving an '02 explorer, mast antenna
Arggg, help!

UM Fan, .net 2.0 framework... install that!!
utd09bry, where are u moving the antenna wire, at the connector going into the tuner?
2002 car is OLD(i know its only 6 years old)... now ur not as exposed to weather as i am, but i would consider replacing the ENTIRE antenna... AND ONLY USE OEM parts!!!
u might not have to replace the whip, just the base, which has the cable
(its not an easy job too)

Basically, while it is plugged in, if I jiggle the antenna lead as a whole, the reception changes. The connection is secure, it is the wire that seems to be picking up the interference.
I think I am going to try to hook the tuner up to my head unit without the PC on and see if there is any interference. That way I can test to see if it is the screen or PC... will try in the morning
Thanks

I've started this morning with coffee and installing .net framework per mitchjs instructions...which worked (DLL registered)...Now I'm on beer # 3.
I config'ed RR to use "Line-In" (using the on-board sound card for the Via 10k)
Using LSX 3.0 with all the patches including the HD Radio skin...I still can't get this thing to work!
I've pulled mitchjs cable off and used display unit that comes with the tuner and I get sound thru my PC and when I switch screens (Radio to something eles) it mutes perfect...
I can hear a clicking sound only the PC boots up first...with the cable connected to the PC.
I know it something stuip that I'm over looking...guess I'll wait till after the game!
Any ideas

Have you tried a different skin, just to make sure RR works and it's not a setting in the skin.
