Also, I struggled until I capitalized hdradioport as "HdRadioPort" or "HDRadioPort" - I don't remember. I'm under the impression it's case sensitive because it began working after that.

blk02si, Still no luck. I never hear the radio "click" on when i go to the radio page. Any more ides?

make sure your roadrunner.exe is the newest available. Unregister and reregister the DLL.

Make sure your port setting is correct, sometimes PC's will do weird things with the ports if you have multiple things connected.

it seems, just about everytime this happens, its because you're using the "test" version of the .dll

the newest .dll is in this thread...

drop it in, and "runme1st.cmd"

Ok, I have swapped out the dll's and re ran the batch file still no luck. RR is the latest version as well as all my skin item. The config has been edited with all the suggestions and still no luck. What am i missing?

are you running a USB > RS232 adaptor or running straight to the serial port?

If all is done as you say, and mitch's app works, RR has to be stealing your HD port assignment when it launches.

I know it can happen because when I upgraded to IG4 it stole COM1 from the HD. When I launched IG4 it would turn on the relays in the HD radio and then turn them right off, and it rendered the HD menu useless.

What other devices do you have plugged into the PC? Please list any USB.

Im not using the adaptor and i do have IG4. I changed the port in IG but right now the only usb devices pluged in are a hub and mouse. Nothing is plugged into the hub. I know what your talking about with IG because i hear the click when it launches also. I change the port, close it, relaunch to make sure its not on the same port.

Did you try messing with the capitalization of "HDRadioport" in "HDRadioport=1"? I found that mine didn't work until I got the capitalizaiton just right.

EDIT: Ok, just searched through forums (not by my carputer right now) and the correct capitalization should be:

HDRadioport=1

Your problem is discovered then. If its clicking upon IG launching then its probing your HD radio port looking for the GPS dongle. Try changing the GPS dongle to a diff. usb slot and setting it to port 6 or 7.

Also you can try what krnpimpsta has suggested although my HD radio works fine with all lower case in the rr.ini

I got mine HD Radio installed over the weekend. I recieved my cable today (thanks Mitch). I cant wait to see it running on my computer. Now the problem is I fried my harddrive. Wired the IDE cable to the harddrive incorrectly. If anyone can help please reply to the post below.

For the HD Radio, I see that there are 2 HD units you can buy....... do both use the same software and drivers or does each have its own? I ask because I know they will be working on a plugin for the Visteon HDZ300 for CF, but I'd prefer the cheaper one, my CarPC install is already way over budget

PS: Mitch I see under XM there is nothing. Do you make serial cables for the XM direct at all? If yes, I would like to buy one...

Mitch, still no luck and not alot of time to work beacuse of teachers cramming before spring break. All of the above has not worked for me so i have no idea what is up.
