of course you do. so do I. When in RR or anywhere else (front end) I can equalize everything. Same as you. The point I have tried to make is the gain out of the visteon box is too high. Not too high to control, not too high that it can't be equalized EASILY. I was just asking if it is possible to lower the output of the hd unit. Not correct it or compensate for it. To actually lower the gain. The answer is no, and thats fine. I run fine the way it is.
I don't use the stock display. I use roadrunner and your cable. works fine, works great. I used the display only to troubleshoot the high gain. nothing else.

Let me ask, how are you guys combating the line-in issue. I noticed that if i have XM and HD radio connected, both are very low on volume. If i connect one at a time, they work like they should. I saw this A/V switch that when it senses output from a device it automatically switches to that device. I am hoping that it will keep the quality and not lover it. I am not sure if this will work though because it also has a video port, so Im scared it wont switch with only audio. What can I do to trick it if it turns out I need a video signal for the auto switching?

Right now im using a 3.5mm headphone splitter, but like I said it makes them lower in sound, I am assuming the devices are fighting each other and thats why the output is lowered. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=004 this is the one I bought. Its very very cheap. Im hoping that I can just use a cable with RCA only, from the HD and XM to ports on the switch and then use a RCA to 3.5mm cable from the out port to the line-in port on the soundcard. I am so hoping this will stop the loss of volume. If it does work, we now have a cheap solution to connect alot of devices and not have to switch manually, although we have that option on this switch.

i've heard the splitter route was dangerous and never got the courage to try it.. i'm glad its working for you though.

I have a simple splitter too. Seems to work ok. I don't have the sound level issue at all. Using Mitch's latest version of RR so only 1 signal at a time going into splitter,, or I guess it's a joiner in this case. Can't wait for the new USB device

Obviously it is dangerous if the volume is being lowered. Thats why i want to use the auto switch instead. Its not working lol!!!!!!!!!

hijackzx1..
what xm setup are you using? I have xm to line in and hd to line in2 and volume isn't effected at all. I have the intel version of the kino board, but i think our audio controllers are different.

Im am using a XMD1000. I am using a Sound Blaster Live USB, and it does not have a second audio in line. Only line-in and mic-in, and mic-in cannot be used if using line-in, its one or the other. I dont use the audio on the KINO, because it so inferior to me. It only has mic-in and audio out. Plus I want to use the mic-in for my mic to control CF.

Gotcha. My mobo has 8 ports built in and 4 of them can be line in or mic in. Really don't understand why the AMD versionh didn't do the same.
