AM not working?

I got DIRECTED DMHD1000 and cable from Mitch (thanks for fast service), downloaded latest RR and New Age Bellissimo skin (for HDRadio support).
Everything is setup by information in other threads (.net 2.0, runme1st, radiomode=8, HDRadioport=1).
Radio is working fine on FM, but I can't change band to AM. Is it supported by RR?
Checked "BAND" button setting in NAB and HDRadio skin for LSX Void 3 skin and both are set to:
Code:
"BYIND;FMAM;FMPRESET;PRESET1<<FMPRESET;PRESET2"

Is it right?

There is a way to enable the band button. Use the code you listed for the band button code. In the RoadRunner folder create two text files, preset1.fm and preset2.fm. Open each one with notepad and enter a valid station number ie: 10750 for fim and 860 for am. Those are the ones I used for my band button and they are actual location stations in my area. When you press the band button it should change the band between fm and am and set it to the corresponding station.

well thats one way to handle it but it should be easier... Mitch's app has a band button that rr should be able to work with.

while we're about requests, can we get a RADIORESET command that's purpose is to close and re-open the hdradioport? When i turn off my car while the computer stays running i lose the radios connection because the unit has technically been powered off when the car is off. To cure this ihave to go to my audio skin then back to my radio skin so that rr re-opens the port.

New_AGe_HD_Radio howto

You can switch to AM by Direct tuning.

Then save button 1 to FM frequency and button 2 rto am frequency..

The use the band BUTTON to switch AM/ FM ..

@ Sonic: I've been following this thread pretty closely and may be interested in getting in on the HD radio. Since I'm also in NOVA, I'm wondering if you've been able to find lots of stations and good reception here.

@All: Also, I'm wondering how people are hooking the units up to their car antennas.

i've very happy with my purchase now that its all up and running in rr like it should. MOST of the mainstream channels in the area carry the HD stream, but it appears most do not have subchannels. Honestly to me (for now at least) this hasnt been a really big deal. I'm having a weird interference issue now... for some reason i get better reception closer to my home if my back seat is down lol. I'm thinking a signal booster should help that though. My directed tuner is in the back on top of my computer and i'm using BOTH cables the directed unit comes with in order to have a cable long enough to reach my stock antenna plug. Most people will overcome this by placing the tuner up where the radio should be.. and that might be what i end up doing if i cant get my interference issues sorted. Overall though i'm very satisfied with the purchase.. but i was in it for a FM/AM replacement first and the HD thing is a bonus.

In terms of hooking it up to your car antenna the unit comes with everything you need to do that. The tuner has an antenna IN and antenna OUT ports.. so if you are using your stock radio you can run the antenna through both the stock radio and the tuner. Grab mitch's cable, grab one of the tuners and you have everything you need to get this hooked up and running.

Hey mitch, what are the chances.... or should i say how easy would it be to create a splitter that allows you to control the unit via RR AND display with the LCD included in the package? I'm thinkin i'd like to know whats available on the radio even when i'm not listening to it.

Thanks, Sonic. My interest in this has more to do with wanting to have the latest and greatest than having a need. If it's not blowing you away and comes only at a fair amount of expense and hassle, I'm probably going to leave well enough alone.

Got my Visteon on Friday and installed it yesterday. Still waiting on my cable but it works good enough right now just using the provided faceplate.

This really is great. It's the first time I've felt I have a REAL radio solution since I installed my carpc.

oh i have to disagree... AM HD is just amazing!!!
and i listen to sports talk, and in HD, i get no background noises
not to mention a FLYERS game in HD sounds so good
the FM i dont listen too as much, but when i tune to a fm, and hear it switch to HD
its night and day... and in phily i think every FM has a sub channel

if people adopt, it will stick!

Ok, here's an idea I've had for streaming audio, which I count as AM/FM, XM, Sirius, or Internet Radio... One of you genius programmers would have to come through big time!

A special app that allows you to monitor a set # of stations, constantly scanning them for the song title info, and displaying and updating titles in a skin selection list, you could then select which 'stream' you wish to listen to. The XM and Sirius apps pretty much work this way, this app would have to enable the different streaming services and scrape for the currently playing song. I'm not sure if its possible, but it would
