We are using standard vga cable to the converter so it can be as long as you like. Also we will not have a price until the unit is fully tested. I can take a shot in the dark and say probably 200-300.
sitruca, to be honest with you I don't know a damn thing about macs..lol. But if you can get it working on a regular touchscreen is should work for you as well.

What is the interface for the touch screen? Does it require drivers?

The touchscreen interface is also custom made. It will require drivers and will only be for xp/2000. At least for now.

Just wondering why we were moved. There seems to be a lot less traffic in the user ino. If possible can thread be moved back to LCD/Display.

this new section called user innovations is specifically for members who create innovative products for the community that they intend to be able to offer for sale here, normally selling on these forums are not allowed unless it's posted in the classifieds.
this section is for hobbyists providing for other hobbyists, & is not intended for use by commercial sellers. I'd tell you don't worry about it really, it will be seen... keep in mind this section has just went up, so of course it appears to have much less traffic. I'll talk to the powers that be & see what appropriate links to the LCD section could be done if any. keep in mind that normally, group buys & selling is not allowed on the forums, & being included in the user innovations section is not a bad thing....

This is with the touchscreen overlay? Looks very good to me. I'd like to for you guys to consider uploading more pictures with skin tones content, maybe under sunlight, etc., but since I don't have an Alpine anyway, I can wait until the tactile touchscreen thing is put to work. Then I'd consider buying the Alpine w/ the converter.
Great job, nonetheless.

Yes those pictures are with touchscreen. We are using the alpine built in touchscreen. I will get some different pics with different info in them. Thanks for the comments.
BTW we will be looking into the tactile feedback after the touchscreen interface is complete.

Is this screen RGBs? Are all alpines RGB+composite sync or sync on green? Can you also tell me if they are 15KHz horizontal frequency, or more modern 30/60?
I also would like to know if Alpine/your converter displays the 480 lines interlaced.
Thanks!
Edit: did use some research, it does seems like it's composite sync. But I wonder if it is 15KHz doing 480 lines interlaced.

This screen is rgbs. It will not show picture at 480i. The default input on the screen is 15khz and it has its own internal scaler. All alpine screens should have a rgbs input on them.
