I will go back to our notes. I think we were able to get 480 I/P to scale correctly on RGsB. but I remember there being a issue but don't recall what it was. Maybe further down the line as we get the VGA units ready for deployment we will take a look at a componet input.

etiscc: if you can confirm or correct me on what I recall about the componet input I would appreciate it!

I think they said that it could be interfaced the vehicle hub.

you are right. i check. only the intelligent HUs can. only thing is i don't need the intelligent ones with amps and the on board DSPs. . Guess 740bt is a very good choice.

you bloody beauty, this is the one thing that will allow me to finally get a car PC - the cheaper touchscreens put me off a little...

Anyway would be definitely keen on one of these interfaces as im looking at one of hese units at the moment anyway, although i have a few questions...

1) im in australia and we have the IVA-W202E which looks very similar to the unit you are testing, and was wondering if the sound processing features (ie. balance, fader, eq etc) would be retained? or would all of these have to be manually done through the windows sound setup? can the standard ALPINE interface still be acessed to make adjustments such as these?

2) volume buttons - will the volume buttons on the screen work?

3) will features such as the built in DVD player and AM/FM radio still be able to be used?

4) amplifier connections - will this still be done via the CarPC soundcard? or will the RCA outputs on the screen be able to be used?

5) any idea on how much this interface will be available for? approximatley?

sorry about all the questions haha feel that they will be usefull for all...

keep up the awsome work!

Glad to here you like it. Now to your questions. I looked up the unit and found that this is not the unit we are working on. The 202 is comparible to our 205, which is an intergrated h/u. We are currently interfacing a TME-M740BT, which is a stand alone monitor with some other cool features. With that screen you would control your audio system through your pc and amp setup. Our unit should work with other screens but we have not been able to test. We will be sure to keep you posted.

Yes we are able to get 480i which has a bit of a centering issue. But 480p looked ok, still not up to standards for anything with small text. I think if there is more demand for that input I think we can make that happen.

hmm well i suppose ill have to keep my eye on this thread

main thing i need is AM/FM radio as i listen to it alot for the footy, breakfast radio etc. all of the tuners available for car PC are average, so this would therefore have to be part of the alpine unit

would be excellent if it all works out with the other models, cant wait!

any idea on price yet?

Hi all, I think I am a little confused.
Is this product going to modify or plug into an alpine TouchScreen Monitor TME-M740BT allowing it to work as an 2 din High Quality interface to a car PC?

If that is the case what functions will the TME-M740BT retain?
Direct Bluetooth phone hands free
System volume control
AV-Input
AV- Output
Reverse camera input

Until reading this thread I didn’t even realize this type of system components existed
Will the proposed developing component require a VPA-B222 style hub to have other inputs such as Audio, ipod and radio control?

this is particular interesting to me as my 2 din media system died around 2 months ago and I have had my ipod plugged straight into the amp holding me off until I could find a system the would fit 2 din and be expandable to a car pc in the future.

any info would greatly appreciated

Seems like the video side of things is very close to completion, whereas the touchscreen part is still under heavy development.

I was wondering if it would be possible to pay for the whole unit, receive the video part, and then receive the touchscreen interface whenever you guys are finished with that. This would also serve as a good estimate for demand.

Our interface will retain all of Alpines features. You can build your whole Alpine system then add our interface. This unit is only been fully(video) tested on the 740bt.

Elrom, we are not ready to release our final product yet. If you really need Alpine video interface we can get you a video only piece that is functional with powerstrip. This would only be our video beta piece. You would have to get a whole new adapter when we get the touchscreen interfaced. We may offer it as a stand alone piece but we do not know yet.

I had assumed the touchscreen and video would be totally separate pieces (sold together?) So I thought it would be cool to purchase both in advance, and receive each as they were completed... I also assumed the video was pretty much completed...

The final interface will more than likley be one piece. Video is pretty much done. However we are adding more adjustability to the circuit, after we are done with modification we are going to have to do some pretty intensive testing. After all we dont want to release anything we are not happy with.
