If you are wanting to use the bluetooth in the alpine are you going to be happy with the onboard speaker they provide? There are no audio outputs that output the bluetooth audio.

How do you feel about having a modded screen? Would you purchase one or send yours in to be modded?

These are some questions that we need answers to help us figure out the final design of the interface. Thanks for your input.

hi there, thought i would add some input

1) i would like to still use alpine features ie. AM/FM radio, basic audio features such as fader/balance and volume.... radio is a must for me, if this feature is not available i would probably reconsider as i use it alot

2) not to fussed with bluetooth, either way i happy. that said i dont know much about bluetooth functionality from a cap PC or headunit, but i would be after the abilitty to browse through contacts, make calls and possibly read text messages directly from the screen

3) as i am in another country, i would probably send you mine as i belive that there is some differences between countries such as DVD region and AM/FM tuning capabilities. if these issues were not present i would probably just purchase one from you

keep up the good work guys

Hm... I was waiting for you to release product before I decide what features will I use... but I will probably (99%) use alpine as a stand alone monitor and all other features will be on my car pc.

About modding... probably... but one step at a time

I do not think the interface will work with the 310 as it is a 1440x232 display. Also I would like to clarify that the TME-M740BT is not a head unit. It does not have am/fm/cd/dvd. It is a screen only desgined to be interfaced with alpines vehicle hub pro. All of your audio would be coming from you carpc. Here is a feature list from alpine:
• 7" WVGA Touch Screen Monitor
• 1.15 million pixels
• RGB 800x480, 16:9
• Built-in Bluetooth module
• Streaming Audio ready (requires Ai-NET to RCA)
• 2DIN mounting bracket for in-dash installation included
• 1 A/V input
• 1 A/V output
• Dedicated camera input with reverse sensor
• Provision for external Bluetooth microphone
Thanks for the replies, great input.

how much does any of this stuff cost? It seems to me that it just better to go with a vga monitor instead of hacking up an alpine monitor which cost the same if not more that a xenarc monitor. I can get a new xenarc 7inch tsv monitor for $300.00.

If you have the room in your dash that just maybe the way to go. But for those of us who dont want to hack our dashes up, Alpine is the way to go. Also the Alpines just look sexy. I would say that the screens can be found for about 350-400 and then our interface ballpark estimate 200-300. There are just so many advantages to using Alpine, if you got the money why not? Plus we are trying to keep it where the carpc plugs in to the alpine not hack the screen.

Ironic you have mentioned this We have a VPA-B222 hooked up right now and are testing with the 740BT and the Carpc hooked in to the hub and the video is operational with the RGB input. the hub Remote is sweet and controls all functions of the alpine system, I love the tactile feedback! we have not tested compatability of our touchscreen controller with the hub but on paper it's all looks like there will be no issues!

I hope you are happy with your new purchase, whatever it maybe. I'm sorry to see that we could have made a product for you but you didn't read all the information on the post before you made your decision.

1) Our Adapter will work with a REAL ALPINE H/U
2) Our Test Base is not "just a Monitor"

Our setup will work on the Newer HU's that are native 800X480. If it's a Apline and and has touchscreen this will work, the only question is do you have a 400X232 screen or 800X480? that question wasn't directed towards you if you are even paying attention

we have also confirmed that with our adapter you will be able to retain the remote control functions of the HU or monitor to control other alpine bits and pieces (eg. VPA, DVA-5210, MRA, RSE-2 etc...) with a Carputer attached!

Sincerely,
Devin G. Aka High Plains Drifter

lol interesting... I may have to get an alpine double din if that is the case. Either way any chance there will be a list of confirmed models this will work with? BTW i would be down for beta testing on my 740bt

Answers to Questions

1. My car pc would provide all functions
2. Most important is i would not want to mod my screen i would prefer that this hook up to the existing cable set. The reason is my 740bt is already molded and functioning as my carpc monitor. I am using a RF mini air mouse to navigate my screens.

Are you just using the aux in on the 740? We are trying to keep from having to mod the screen. If people want the Bluetooth audio to come out of the speakers we have to open screen or get them into the VPA-B222.
