Stupid question. I haven't been able to test this in my car yet but will very soon. When I launch GooPs from my test PC and then it launches Google Earth.. GE always starts from outer space and takes FOREVER to get to the actual car.. Is this a setting in GE or something?
Thanks!
Looking forward to this being able to work in skinbedder!

Well while your talking about that, my GPS defaults to com11 because of some of the crazyness of my setup, not a big deal because I just let the GPS conflict with one of my modems but others may run into the same problem.
(GooPs only lets you set from com1-com8)
But keep up the good work, i've been using it just for fun for the last two days, next month i am going on a long business trip by car so it will be cool to let google earth's built in trip route thing direct me while GooPs tracks me.

I just looked at my code and it looks like I have some of these COM settings hardcoded. I probably shouldn't set these because there is no way to change them.
dcb.fOutxCtsFlow = FALSE;
dcb.fRtsControl = RTS_CONTROL_DISABLE;
dcb.fDtrControl = DTR_CONTROL_DISABLE;
dcb.fOutxDsrFlow = FALSE;
dcb.fOutX = TRUE; // XON/XOFF control
dcb.fInX = TRUE;
dcb.ByteSize = 8;
dcb.Parity = NOPARITY;
dcb.StopBits = ONESTOPBIT;

Is this in "Demo" mode? Make sure you have "Track Selection" checked on the GooPs main window. If that doesnt help try checking the "AutoZoom" box.

Thanks for the feedback.
I meant to make it so you could enter anything you wanted in the "Port" box and GooPs would try to use it. I'll fix that and add more ports.

You have to adjust the fly-to speed. Everytime GooPs updates, GE will pause and then start flying again. If your fly speed is too low, it will take forever to zoom in from outer space. nemaGE and Earth-Bridge have the same issue.

RPM_VR4, I have trouble embedding the GE Nag screen when you don't have an Internet connection. I just can't get it to go away. Could you help, please?

The problem is if you don't have an active Internet connection, GE will pop up a warning message saying it cannot connect to the Google server. It's kinda like the iGuidance's nag screen. The problem is it takes a while for GE to pop up this warning message, sometimes up to 20 second.
All you need to do is disconnect your network cable while starting GE and you'll see what I mean.

Feature Request: Smoothing
I mentioned something similar before, but autozoom smoothing would be nice. Autozoom should only change levels if the speed is out or range for greater than some time interval. this would prevent constant zoom changes when driving close to the interval speeds. practically for city driving, the occasional increase in speed (lasting maybe one ge refresh) results in a zoom out, then zoom in, with ~2sec delay between the commands. it would be nice if it were smoothed such that the number of zoom commands is limited.
Seems like this wouldnt be that hard to implement. im assuming there is a "zoom level" object dependent on the "current speed" object via the configuration table. I could write the smoothing functions if there is interest.

Thanks d2, that's a great idea. I'll see what I can do. Do you think this applies to AutoTilt also?

David: Please make that optional. Personally, I like the zoom. It's already fully configurable with the .cfg file. That's good enough for me.
b8: Use AutoIt Window Tool to find the name/class of the "nag" window. Copy the GooPsWindow sub-dir and rename it to GENag. Rename the INI file too and edit it to reflect the proper window name/class. In the startup script, add Embed(GENag:20000) an then add Type(I) so it will auto press the ignore button. Let me know if you have any trouble.
